We are off to a great Summer Start start here at Fresno Music Academy & Arts!! Our Summer 'Adventure' Camps were FANTASTIC!! Our camp Director Lyric Gianni did an excellent job creating a camp that was engaging and SO much fun!! We had great helpers, too! Thank you Tori and Max (-:

Next up, FRONT A BAND FANTASY CAMP! This is basically Summer Camp for Grownups! David Aus and myself have not done this camp since before the Pandemic so we are THRILLED to be doing this again!

How does it work you ask??

Well, David and I work very closely with singers, getting them ready to get up on stage! At the end of camp, they perform live with the band! This year we have 8 new singers and 4 or 5 “Alumni” I believe. We work together all week long preparing for the final show on Saturday night July 15th in the ViSTA Theater!! This performance is open to the public! so YOU can come and enjoy a fabulous night of live music!!

I’m sure many of you have summer Vacation Traveling Plans. Make your you let us know and have a fantastic time with friends and loved ones. We love you all! Stay cool and safe!!

John and I don’t have any “Big” travel plans this summer, just small stuff. We do have a BIG project planned-we are cleaning the garage. Yup! We will be turning our garage into an “ART” space! We are very excited about it. Speaking of ART SPACES, we are proud to announce the opening of The Fresno Music Academy & Arts ANNEX and Doris Gallery.

That's right, starting July 1st, we will be creating an art program for kids ages 3-5, 4-7, and 8-14. Come the Fall, we hope to be adding classes for grownups as well! For more information, please ask the office staff!! 

Again, Happy Summer, Happy 4th of July, and all that Jazz!

ARTS CLASSES at FMAA!

Right now at both our school locations, we have been teaching our early childhood music program, Music Funtime. These classes are geared toward kids ages 3-6. I’m confident that most of you know about this wonderful program. We are excited that starting July 1, we will add Art Fundamentals on the same days as Music Funtime. We will be shifting the times of Music Funtime just a bit to allow parents to have their kids in BOTH programs. I personally watched this program in action and I am so excited about it. I observed the easy flow of kids going from music class to art class and vice versa. Parents, this is a really cool opportunity for you and your children!

Also, we are excited to announce the opening of Fresno Music Academy & ARTS ANNEX, located right across the street at 814 Olive Ave. On July 1, we will be starting this FABULOUS Art program, Art Fundamentals geared toward kids ages 6-14. We will also be adding Art classes for adults, sometime in the fall.

"I’m so honored to be a part of ROTARY. They do such amazing work all around the globe. I’m especially proud to be a part of the Cultural Arts Rotary Club of Fresno. They do amazing work here in our own backyard, and around the globe. This past year was exceptional in that our president Marcy Masumoto and her team got our club “back on track” from COVID, where our past president ROCKSTAR Terri Broderick kept us all alive…for not one but 2 terms!! Our club not only survived but we flourished.

A few nights ago we celebrated the lovely Marcy Masumoto, our outgoing president, and Adrienne Vanderberg, our lovely new incoming president! Everyone in this club is a rockstar!! We had a wonderful evening celebrating everyone. There were also many other special honors bestowed upon members. Among those was a very shocked and humbled …me! I was given a Paul Harris Fellow award, gifted by Jerry Palladino). I could not be more proud. I know that my Grandma Dorthy and my Grandpa Vencil, both of them VERY involved in service organizations, are smiling down on me! I’m still sort of in a fog…If you know anything about the Rotary club, you understand how very special this is. I am humbled. "

FMAA'S SUMMER CAMPS

Last week, Fresno Music Academy & Arts concluded our two week summer program of ART & MUSIC!

We were amazed by the creativity of these kids, and we hope to see them again next year!

Week one, we worked on landscape and abstract paintings, backdrop design and execution, model drawing, surrealism, and more!

Week two introduced choreography, vocal work, playwriting and performed a showcase at the end!

We had so much fun and would like to extend a thank you to our staff and families who contributed and made this program so much fun!
