Eastman at Washington Square Concerts take place on Thursdays at 12:15 to 12:45pm in our sanctuary. Feb 23 is "Piano Extravaganza II": A second installment of masterpieces for piano performed by students from the studio of Professor Douglas Humpherys. Admission is free!
Friday, Feb. 24 | Game and Craft Night (with potluck)!
Let's bring back the potluck at First Universalist, and warm up a winter evening with games, crafts and community! Families and youth to have "first pick" to start up games or crafts. A presentation by Rev. Dr. Starsky Wilson, President and CEO of Children’s Defense Fund. This event will be held from 1-3pm at Spiritus Christi Church and is sponsored by the Spiritus Anti-Racism Coalition; tickets are $25 for General Admission; $100 includes reception with Dr. Starsky. Mar. 5 | In-Person Drop-In Discussion: Reparations: How might they work?
Many people favor reparations to African-Americans as compensation for the lingering effects of slavery and Jim Crow. But just how would they work? Phil Ebersole will present some info and lead a discussion in the Chalice Room at 9:15am on Sunday, March 5. If you have a topic you'd like discussed or, better still, would be willing to facilitate a discussion, please speak to Phil Ebersole.
Sunday, Mar. 19 | Bowl to Strike Out Homelessness!
Join us for an afternoon of bowling for Family Promise of Greater Rochester (FPGROC). The goal is to raise at least $300, enough to shelter a family for two weeks. Sunday, Apr. 2 | Dick Gilbert: Words, Wisdom, and Music
Join us at 2pm in the First Universalist sanctuary in honoring this great UU Minister who dwells among us! The concert will feature the words of Dick Gilbert, set to music and performed by our own Voices of the Spirit and other UUROC musicians. The concert is free, with a goodwill offering taken to benefit First Universalist. Light refreshments to follow. Don’t miss it!
