Meet the Hygieneering Team

Company Spotlight

Hygieneering would like to officially welcome Katlyn Lazzaro to the Hygieneering team! Katlyn is Hygieneering's newest EH&S Technician.

Here's a little introduction from Katlyn herself:

My name is Katlyn Lazzaro and I am Hygieneering's newest Environmental Health and Safety Technician. I started with the company in December of 2023.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Purdue University. My first employment after graduating college was with an environmental emergency response services company which pushed me in the direction of Health and Safety in the workplace. My career aspiration was to land a position with an environmental consulting firm leading me to work with Hygieneering.

With Hygieneering, I see room for growth, gaining the experience needed to work alongside experienced professionals. I am always looking for ways I can build my value and I truly believe I am in the right place.

In my free time, I enjoy spending my time outdoors fishing, hiking, gardening, and enjoying time with loved ones.

DUST & INDOOR AIR QUALITY IN THE OFFICE

Dust may become an indoor air quality issue when there are health concerns associated with the presence of dust. It is common for the accumulation of dust in the workplace to lead to allergy-like symptoms of the occupants. In office environments that do not have thorough housekeeping practices, common allergens may begin to accumulate, creating conditions that will impact sensitive individuals. An additional health concern is the concentration of dust particles in the air. Hygieneering can both test for common environmental allergen levels and monitor airborne dust concentrations at multiple particle sizes to compare them to recommended levels in the office environment.

LEED INDOOR AIR QUALITY TESTING SERVICES

Congratulations to New Trier Township High School District 203 on attaining LEED Gold for their Winnetka Campus’s Athletic & Academic Addition!

Hygieneering provided LEED indoor air quality testing services to New Trier Township High School District 203 at their Winnetka Campus’s Athletic & Academic Addition, which was awarded LEED Gold Rating. The IAQ testing, which provided 2 LEED Credits, was conducted by Hygieneering’s experienced IAQ team, led by David Zeidner, Director of IAQ Services. To qualify for these time-sensitive credits, Hygieneering coordinated efforts with the district, general contractor (Pepper Construction), project architect (Wright & Company), and mechanical contractor (AMSCO Engineering). Testing was performed after the completion of construction activities and before the opening of the new facility in the seventeen individual testing locations. LEED 4.1 testing protocols were followed for this LEED v4 BD+C: SC project.
