REALTORS® Honor Past Citizen of the Year in New Library at Carl Maxey Center

The SAR helped make a dream come true for a long-time community partner and friend with an investment in the Carl Maxey Center, last night.

SAR CEO Tiffany Claxton (left) presented a $5,000 check to Board President and Spokane City Council member Betsy Wilkerson (right) to help build out technology in a new library that will feature information and resources on home ownership.

The library was built in remembrance of Sandy Williams, a local civil rights activist and founder/editor/publisher of the Black Lens newspaper.

Sandy was Spokane REALTORS® Citizen of the Year in 2019 and Washington REALTORS® Citizen of the Year in 2020. She was Executive Director of the Carl Maxey Center at the time of her death from an airplane crash in September.

“This is the gathering place that she wanted,” said Rick Williams, Sandy’s brother.
SAR CEO Tiffany Claxton made her first televised appearance in Spokane, last night, when she delivered a check to the Carl Maxey Center and spoke of the importance of technology access to finding a way into a new home.

Go behind the scenes of the KXLY-TV live news remote from the Carl Maxey Center, last night, in this short video clip that puts our camera behind their camera during the 4NewsNow Extreme Team broadcast.

“Wow….What Just Happened?” (3.5 clock hours)
1:30pm-5:00pm

Holy smokes! Did you get the license plate off that bus?

Sometimes that is the way this industry feels.

In the last several years, issues of huge significance have rocked the peaceful foundation of our industry and created turbulence out of what many of us knew, for decades, to be still waters.

This class examines the most weighty and significant issues of the last 12 months and places them in perspective.

How do those issues affect brokers in their day-to-day sales?

What can brokers do to avoid problems created by recent statutory case law?

Sometimes, understanding the underpinnings of a problem can make the solution more manageable.

This class studies current issues and problems and reveals the most effective solutions and strategies in easy-to-understand language.
