Student Improves Ability to Read, Reflect, and Share Insights on the Importance of the Arts
Sabina Nagle of Myrtleville, Ireland was amazed and sometimes daunted by the amount of inspirational articles, videos, and reading material that was shared in the course The Baha'i Faith and the Arts. She was so pleased that they will be available for a year so that she can delve into them more deeply. "I have improved my ability to read, reflect, and share insights on the importance of the arts gained not only from the course material but from the many thoughtful and diverse contributions from the team on our course. I feel excited, encouraged, and confirmed about the prospect of developing my art more and using my creative side in service to the Cause."

Learner Gains New Understanding of Islam
Mai Musta of Toronto, Ontario, says "When I began the course Introduction to Islam, I had little knowledge of the life of Muhammad. The knowledge I’ve gained now helps me to better understand the teachings of Islam. I have a better understanding of how Islam spread, and I recognize the value in the teachings of Islam about the brotherhood of all Muslims."

Theology Class as Both Heaven and Hell: How Will I Use What I Have Learned Here?
Connie DeMillo of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, was surprised by the Baha'i Theology course she took over the summer as part of the certificate in the Baha'i History and Texts program of the Wilmette Institute. She is using skills developed in the course to teach English to a boy from Taiwan and relate more closely to the students in her online drawing class. "This class has made me say “Yeah” to challenges with aging, difficulties and miscommunications, climate change, and all of the other tests thrown my way. I know facing them with God’s presence in my life strengthens me even as my mind and body weaken with age. Luckily for me, the soul is ageless."

Orientation Course Still Available
The Wilmette Institute's "extension" (non-credit) courses have recently introduced an engaging one-week orientation course called "First Look - A Course on the Wilmette Institute’s Approach to Learning." This orientation aims to familiarize students with Moodle, the Baha'i conceptual framework for action, and the significance of public discourse. By focusing on these vital elements, the orientation course ensures that both the extension courses and students are aligned to apply the course material in support of the Nine Year Plan. We are excited to offer this course to everyone, and it's completely free. The course is designed to be self-guided, allowing participants to proceed at their own pace. To enroll, simply enter the enrollment key: 2023.
