Hello Josey,

Tiger Talk e-newsletters are distributed the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month as a way to keep our patrons informed with important school information. Archived editions can be found HERE. Have a great week!

District CSIP Approved

Throughout the last year district teammates and community volunteers devoted over 1200 hours to develop our newly approved district CSIP–Comprehensive School Improvement Plan! This “strategic plan” has been designed to serve as our “road map” for the next 4-6 years in meeting the needs of our students and employees. In addition, updated district mission and vision statements were created.

As a reminder, this process is community driven! There were over 550 responses to surveys seeking feedback about the development of our mission, vision and the community priorities included within the CSIP. Over 100 representatives (including parents, community members, school board members, employees and students) were involved in the committees, or “goal teams,” who brought this work to life. THANK YOU to those who were involved!

There are three goal areas that will drive our work through the CSIP:

  • Academic success
  • Culture
  • Leadership

For each of these three goals, performance objectives, strategies and measures have been developed that include ways to support and grow STUDENTS and EMPLOYEES!

Visit:https://sites.google.com/republicschools.org/csip/home to dive into our new CSIP! This webpage has been designed to provide you with an overall snapshot of this work as it progresses, but also an opportunity to dive as deep into it as you’d like to learn more! We can’t wait to share more with you about our CSIP journey as the new school year begins in August!

Open Positions

We're on the lookout for quality individuals who enjoy working with students and making a difference to join our team!

These openings are all critical roles in helping us provide a wonderful school experience for our students. A few of these positions include:

**TWO 8th GRADE SCIENCE TEACHERS

**RMS SCHOOL BASED CLINICIAN

**BUS DRIVERS

**CUSTODIANS

A full list of openings with application details can be found HERE.

PLEASE SHARE this information to help us recruit employees!

Content Specialist Positions

It’s no secret that employers across the country are having difficulty filling open positions. Republic School District is no different.

For open classroom teaching positions our number one priority will remain to fill these vacancies with highly qualified and professionally certificated teachers when at all possible! We deeply appreciate the classroom experience that these educators provide in our classrooms! However, due to a national decrease in the number of candidates who fit these qualifications who are applying for openings, it’s time to create additional options that can still allow us to meet our mission of effectively preparing students for their futures.

Moving forward, if a teaching position is open for an extended period of time with no highly qualified and professionally certificated teacher applicants, the district will consider filling this opening with a “content specialist” who are individuals:

  • Who enjoy & excel in working with students.
  • Have at least 60 hours of college credit.
  • Have expertise & experience in the course field.

Right now we have two 8th grade science teaching positions that have had no applicants for over 30 days. Therefore, we are open to filling these positions with either a certified teacher or a content specialist.

PLEASE SHARE THIS OPPORTUNITY! Details can be found HERE.

Important Information About Out of State, For-Profit Virtual Learning Providers

Conducting school during a pandemic taught us many things and one of those is the importance of students being inside our classrooms, face to face with their teachers and peers. Quite simply, we have seen that the large majority of students thrive best academically, socially and emotionally in the seated learning environment. Virtual learning can be a strong learning tool, but it is not a good fit for all students.

Below is information we wanted to share ahead of the implementation of new legislation that allows out-of-state for-profit virtual learning providers the opportunity to market their services to your family. These for-profit providers:

  • Do not provide the same support that students get while attending in-person school in Republic. We fear struggling students (academically, socially and emotionally) will not get their needs met.
  • Employ teachers who do not spend their dollars in our local community.
  • Will not have a curriculum built by local educators which match our values and standards.
  • Funnel local tax dollars to large out-of-state for profit companies.

As our mission indicates, our priority is to prepare our students to be successful in their future. We do not believe these for-profit virtual providers share the same mission. Republic School District continues to be a top performing district in the state implementing best practices in our classrooms, helping students grow academically and investing in the social and emotional needs of our students and employees. We are #RepMOProud of the educational experience we provide!

The goal in sharing this information is to make sure you have the facts about these for-profit virtual providers prior to receiving any marketing materials about their programming.

Board of Education Governance Award

The Republic School District Board of Education is one of only 14 boards from across Missouri to receive the prestigious Governance Team Award from the Missouri School Boards’ Association. This accolade showcases the Board’s commitment to continuous improvement through ongoing professional development, regional and statewide leadership and active participation in legislative advocacy for public schools and the students they serve. We are tremendously proud and appreciative of these individuals who serve our district!
