A PUBLICATION OF THE NORMANDALE PTO
Ummm, does anyone know what the weather will be tomorrow? (asking for a friend). Here are some helpful tips to get your students through the day comfortably in any situation the forecast throws at us. Open your closet or dresser drawers and pick out one of everything: tank top, shorts, tee, sweatshirt, pants, kilt, trousers, jumper, thermals and socks – all lengths. Then layer with a pullover, windbreaker, coat, poncho, parka and/or shacket for optimal wearability and versatility!

FOOD PROGRAMS
VEAP & Every Meal
| |
Edina Public Schools partners with two food programs to help support students coping with food insecurity. The first is VEAP which provides weekly food bags with daily snacks per child. This year we will continue to offer pre-packed bags of nutritious and student-friendly snacks/foods for schools to distribute as needed. This food program is intended for those households that are low income. If you are interested in this food program, please email our school social worker at lisa.rapkehoffman@edinaschools.org to request the weekly snack bags which are distributed on Fridays into student backpacks.
The second program is Every Meal which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to fight child hunger. They focus on filling the food gaps children face on weekends, extended breaks, and summer when they’re not able to access school meal programs. Every Meal provides children and families experiencing food insecurity with access to good food. This program is not income dependent. Each week, tailored bags of food are distributed to students in their backpacks on Thursdays. If you want to sign up, please fill out this form.

AGATHA VALLÉE
Kindergarten – Le Letty
| |
Hi! I live in a small village in the northeast of France, called Apremont. I have lived there
since I was very small. Today I no longer live in Apremont but in Nancy for my studies but otherwise I lived with my mom and dad and my 2 big brothers. I love cycling, reading outside, walking in the woods and picking mushrooms or fruits. I love to bake. I also love sports and above all basketball, I dream of going to an NBA game soon.
| |
|
Favorite Foods: My favorite food is anything my mom makes, she cooks a lot and she makes very varied cuisine. But I love to eat mussels. My grandmother always made them on Mother’s Day, it reminds me of my childhood.
In The US: I would like to discover new
landscapes, travel, learn a new culture and new customs. I would like to meet new people and see another education.
This is the first time I will go so far from home and for so long. I can’t wait to see what will happen to me and all the fun memories I'll bring back to France that I will keep for life.

The Edina Education Fund is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to the continued academic excellence of the Edina Public Schools.
The Ed Fund secures private, supplemental funding to support valuable education experiences and innovative projects in the Edina Public Schools. Funds raised augment school system revenues that are provided by taxes, state aid, and other parent and student led fundraising efforts. The Ed Fund is necessary to help ensure the caliber of educational programs we have come to expect of the Edina Public Schools. Your support means greater academic opportunities for all students, today and into the future.
We are fortunate to be part of the Edina community that has a strong, valued and well-respected school system. However, to protect and enhance the value of our homes and property and the quality of life we enjoy, we must further invest in our public school system. Edina Education Fund contributes to the development and financial support of district-wide programs within Literacy, STEAM and Mental Health/Wellness Services for all students and staff.
