How to Stay Hydrated
Our bodies are made up of about 60% water. So how do you stay adequately hydrated? Get fluids from water and things that contain high levels of water such as tea, coffee, milk, juice, broth-based soups, fruits, and vegetables. About 20% of your daily water intake typically comes solely from the fruits and vegetables you consume.
To read more about how much water you should be consuming and tips on easy ways to boost up your water intake, read this blog post about staying hydrated written by Kerry Howell, Cornell Wellness staff.

Cornell Elves Backpack Program
|
|
The Backpack Program is back for its sixteenth year and will be supporting 30 schools!
The program donates new, filled backpacks to the neediest children in grades kindergarten to sixth grade. The items that complete the backpacks are standard and can be found on the Elves web page. Typically, a new filled backpack can cost between $20-$25.
How can you help?
-
Donate supplies: Did your office buy too many pencils or notebooks this year? Do you have extra glue sticks? The program can get these items to classrooms where they will be used;
-
Write a check: Don't have time to shop? No problem. The elves know how to stretch a dollar and get what the kids need most. Any amount will make a difference. Checks can be made out to "The Elves" and sent to Bill Alberta, 750 Elm Street Extension, Ithaca, New York 14850.
You also have the option of donating a backpack to a particular school or making a general donation that will be given to one of the schools on our list that is most in need. If you want to donate to a particular school, please contact the leader for that school, found on the website.
Backpacks will be collected in the atrium at EHOB (East Hill Office Building) on Wednesday - Friday for the first three weeks of August from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
