2024 NH Conservation Districts

Climate Resilience Grant Program

Funding available to support and empower local farmers to build climate resilience across the Granite State!

Walpole, NH (January 15, 2024) – The 10 New Hampshire Conservation Districts are collecting applications for the 2024 round of the NH Conservation Districts Climate Resilience Grant.

NH farms are increasingly challenged by extreme weather events, prolonged droughts, and heightened pest pressure. This grant aims to empower local farmers in building climate resilience across the Granite State. Funding will help NH farms mitigate agricultural impacts on climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and sequestering carbon. The grant also funds projects to help farms adapt to a changing climate, all while meeting their conservation goals and needs.

With only two years under its belt, the grant has already awarded over $345,000 to 49 farms in every county across the Granite State!

Farmers can apply for up to $10,000 to implement projects that mitigate the impact of agriculture on climate change and enhance the on-farm adaptations to projected climate conditions. Resilience looks different across the diversity of NH agriculture. Farms have used funding to support renewable energy and efficiency projects, soil health improvements, water and pest management, and other creative solutions.

Applications are due on February 1, 2024!
