It’s summertime and the weather is hot. It reminds me of that playful song telling you to “have a drink, have a drive, go out and see what you can find.” What a perfect song for a summer day in the Sebastian River Area (SRA). Situated along the Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Byway, The SRA is packed with restaurants, bars, breweries, arts and culture, activity centers, and other unique and charming finds. Plus, miles and miles of trails, parks, cypress lakes, pristine beaches, and meandering rivers for you to “go fishing or go swimming in the sea.” Scroll down to check out Just In Time Watercraft Rentals featured in this month's Tourism Partner Spotlight and don't forget to stop by the Pelican Porch Visitor’s Center to grab an official SRA Visitor’s Guide. Sebastian Freedom Festival Monday, July 4, 2022 Riverview Park Celebrate America's Independence this Fourth of July at Sebastian's Freedom Festival, presented by The City of Sebastian, The Lion's Club of Sebastian, and the Sebastian Masonic Lodge. Festivities begin with a traditional town parade, followed by live music, vendors, and fun games for the whole family going on throughout the day. Enter the pizza and watermelon eating contests or show your talents with the hula hoop and karaoke contests! Bring chairs and make a day of it. There's a solar-powered Splash Pad located next to the park for cooling off and plenty of patriotism filling the air. Listen to the Bobby Owen Band headlining at 6pm and watch the fireworks display over the Indian River Lagoon putting a glorious end to the annual Freedom Festival. Click here for schedule of events
