CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
GREAT NEWS! On May 25th, foundations for our next six Palmdale homes will be poured!
WE Build
During our WE Build event, we landscaped 3 basins, finalized the playground, installed bender boards along the perimeter of the playground, completed the community garden with lots of fruits and veggies, built a memorial pergola for Jack Woolbert over the Tom Hilzendeger's memorial bench, and created a pathway to the memorial wall.
Thank you all for your hard-work and dedication in helping us build our Palmdale community!
FAMILY SERVICES
Our Veteran Families

Happy Easter! The families and children in our Palmdale neighborhood received an exciting Easter basket filled with treats!

Homeownership Training
On April 30th, Donna Deutchman, CEO of Homes 4 Families, led a homeownership workshop to educate Palmdale veterans and families on various aspects of homeownership (resell restrictions for affordable housing, understanding mortgages, taxes, HOA dues, neighborhood safety & guidelines, etc.). Each family received a Homeownership Training Certificate. Also discussed during the workshop was the upcoming Neighborhood Watch meeting on May 16, 2022 @ 7:00pm.

Children also engaged in an art workshop in our children's room.

The workshop was a huge success!
BUILDING OUR NETWORK

Donna Deutchman was featured in the April's Inside Edition online magazine for Building Industry Association (BIA), LA/Ventura County online magazine on page 34.
THANK YOU
Mike Shaub
If you attend any construction build, you know Mike Shaub is on site to serve as a TEAM leader when you see a shiny bright, cherry-red, lowered truck hauling a matching trailer. The trailer he hauls all the way from his home in Tehachapi, is full of any tool you might need. Of course, all the tools are matching and displayed at a perfect 45 degree angle. Beyond being a very handy perfectionist, Mike is more importantly an incredibly generous person and successful business man. Mike owns Sentry Residential in Palmdale, California. His office’s motto is, “Live to Serve- Serve to Live.” On the Sentry Residential website, Mike says that he is willing to donate 25% of his commission to a charity within 30 miles of your newly purchased property when you use him as your agent. Mike genuinely lives by these words!

Mike Shaub is an Airforce Veteran who has served for 26 years! He has earned the rank of Master Sergeant after serving 8 years as active duty and 18 years as a reservist. He continues his reservist status today. Mike is a true mentor and dedicates much of his time to Edwards Airforce Base and many of the local non-profits.

We are proud to call Mike a friend of Homes 4 Families and honored to spotlight Mike as our Volunteer.
Funder Spotlight
Northrop Grumman

This month, we are spotlighting Northrop Grumman, one of our most cherished partners! Northrop Grumman has supported Homes 4 Families since 2013 and has contributed over $150,000 and 2,750 hours of volunteerism towards three separate neighborhoods. They are consistently attending events, building on site, and supporting our military families. They were one of our honorees at the 2021 Builder’s Ball which honored the aerospace industry. Northrop Grumman is dedicated to veteran employment as well as transforming their community. We work closely with their Antelope Valley group to ensure the veterans in our shared areas are supported and given the tools to thrive. Thank you Northrop Grumman!
