EFFECTIVE JULY 1, MARYLAND BUSINESSES HAVE MORE WAYS TO EARN TAX CREDITS BY PROVIDING EMPLOYEES WITH COMMUTING OPTIONS

Carpools, Telework, Biking and Walking Now Included in Maryland Commuter Tax Credit Program

Legislation expanding the Maryland Commuter Tax Credit program took effect July 1, giving in-state businesses credits for providing employees with additional commuting options. The legislation expanding tax credit opportunities was sponsored by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) and approved by the General Assembly during its 2022 session.

MDOT is authorized to issue up to $1 million per fiscal year through the Maryland Commuter Tax Credit program. More details are available at mdot.maryland.gov/mdcommutertaxcredit

2022 Maryland Sustainable Growth Awards - Nominations are Open

The Maryland Sustainable Growth Awards celebrate significant achievement by individuals, businesses, organizations, and local governments to support the
12 planning visions adopted by the Maryland General Assembly. The awards promote exemplary work that represents or inspires collaboration, innovation, conservation, community impact, and quality of life.

Awards are given in the categories of Leadership and Service, Sustainable Communities, and Preservation/Conservation and will be presented at the 2022 Sustainable Growth Awards Ceremony later this year.

Nominate worthy people and projects today. Self-nominations are accepted! Award application and guidelines are available at the Maryland Department of Planning's Award Nominations webpage. The deadline for nominations is July 15, 2022.
