Librarying

September 2022

“You can get lost in any library, no matter the size. But the more lost you are, the more things you'll find.”

― Millie Florence, Lydia Green Of Mulberry Glen

New Book Spotlight

In Die Around Sundown, by Mark Pryor, Parisian detective Henri Lefort hunts for a killer while maintaining a precarious balancing act with Nazi occupiers in this gripping and tightly-plotted story. A wonderfully historic and a masterful mystery with the entire deck on the table, the wild card being that if Lefort doesn’t solve the case of the murdered Nazi in his occupied and beloved Paris―he’s a dead man.

What makes We Lie Here so frightening is the suggestion that your own family might not be who they claim to be. Author Rachel Howzell Hall gives us a tight, lean, eye-level look at the Gibson family—flawed, normal, abnormal, and each affected by a deadly secret left buried for years—while weaving a page-turning tapestry of dread, cold-blooded murder, and nail-biting tension.

All of the Marvels, by Douglas Wolk, is the first-ever full reckoning with Marvel Comics’ interconnected, half-million-page story, a revelatory guide to the “epic of epics”—and to the past sixty years of American culture—from a beloved authority on the subject who read all 27,000+ Marvel superhero comics and lived to tell the tale.
