For auditions everyone 18 years and older is welcome to audition and encouraged to bring a head shot and resume, but these items are not required. Auditions will consist of some Improv work, cold readings from the script and character impressions. Knowledge of that really popular 7 book series is preferred, but not required. Being able to do an English accent is a plus as well. All roles are open and can be any race, body type or gender with the exception of the Narrator and Wayne which will need to be the gender listed.
Performance dates are November 11-13 and 18-20.

- Oliver Rivers; a mathematician wizard from New Jersey.
- Megan Jones; daughter of the infamous Xavia Jones who thinks she should be in the Snakes house.
- Narrator (Male); The one with all the heavy books.
- Cedric; the lead Puff at the magic school.
- Mr. Voldy; an evil and dark lord who wants to take over the school and kill Harry.
- Mr. Potter; a famous student in the Brave house who kills magical beasts and constantly steals opportunities from the Puffs.
- Susie Bones; a Puff who lives in fear of death, due to the fact that her entire family died.
- J Finch Fletchley; a flamboyant and happy Puff.
- Sally Perks; goes to school here
- Ernie Mac; a very confident and self-obsessed Puff.
- Hannah; a shy Puff who gets made fun of by the other houses.
- Leanne; a Puff who grew up as an only child and wants to be friends with everybody.
SUMMARY
The New York Times proclaims Puffs “A fast-paced romp through the ‘Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic.’ For Potterphiliacs who grew up alongside Potter and are eager to revisit that world, Puffs exudes a jovial, winking fondness for all things Harry!”
This clever and inventive play “never goes more than a minute without a laugh” (Nerdist) giving you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three potential heroes just trying to make it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers “who are so lovable and relatable, you’ll leave the theater wishing they were in the stories all along” (Hollywood Life). Their “hilariously heartfelt!” (Metro) and epic journey takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.
Puffs is not authorized, sanctioned, licensed, or endorsed by J.K Rowling, Warner Bros. or any person or company associated with the Harry Potter books, films or play.
This is presented with permission from Concord Theatricals.

Hone Your Photography Skills
at the Berkeley Art Works
The Berkeley Arts Council’s fall schedule of classes includes two photography workshops in September. The Why and How of the Photographic Project starts September 12. This workshop will help participants through the process of designing, planning, and executing a photo project. The workshop consists of four sessions over a ten week period. The time between sessions gives participants time to develop their plan and begin photographing. Intermediate sessions provide feedback and guidance on work in progress. Participants will present their projects during the last session. Four sessions meet September 12 and 26, October 31 and November 21 from 6:00 - 9:00pm. Registration deadline for this workshop is September 5.
Photographic Composition and Creative Vision begins September 19. What is it that makes one picture of a particular subject ordinary while another image of the same subject is a work of art? This two-part workshop will explore how composition, light and shadow, form and texture can work together to express something beyond merely recording a scene. The workshop starts with a discussion of the concepts of composition and then applies them to the image in the viewfinder, to the final adjustments on the computer. During the 4-week interval between sessions, students will be given assignments to put the ideas and techniques into practice. Students will return for a second session to discuss their work. The two sessions meet September 19 and October 17 from 6:00-9:00pm. Registration deadline is September 12.
Visit https://berkeleyartswv.org/creative-photography-workshops/ for a more detailed description of each workshop. Both workshops meet at the Berkeley Art Works, 116 N. Queen Street, Martinsburg, WV.
