Dean's Update: What is there to Learn about Information?
Information is ubiquitous. Yet, many of us spend a lot of time looking for it, collecting it and storing it for the future. We produce and disseminate information daily through email, texting, social media and more. With this constant interaction with information it is easy to feel overwhelmed by it and realize that the deluge of information we experience is well reflected by such emerging metaphors as data smog, infobesity, infoxication, or information glut . The result of the Information Age is that we suffer from information overload.

Browsing is Back! Introducing Browzine  

As wonderful as e-journal articles are, they typically are not easy to browse as their print counterparts - that is, until now. The Libraries is excited to provide a new tool that facilitates easy browsing on mobile devices, Browzine. The application is free to download, but access to electronic journals is limited to members of the Drexel Community.

Website Cheat Sheet - Navigating the Libraries New Site 

In June 2014, six minority students from the Community College of Philadelphia arrived at Drexel to conduct full-time research in the Engineering lab of their choice through the RISE@Drexel program. Each RISE scholar is paired with a mentor, and undergraduate and graduate TA and is supervised by the Drexel Principal Investigator. 

Proposed Renovation to bring more natural light into W. W. Hagerty Library 

Natural light positively affects learning. Since the 1990s research supports the benefits of light on concentration, productivity and designs of schools and other learning environments. More recently this spring Drexel students identified natural light among the important factors in campus learning spaces they selected as desirable learning environments

Quality Improvement: Q & A with John Wiggins, Director of Services & Quality Improvement 

A quick glance at the white boards covering half of the space in his office would tell you that John has a lot of responsibilities on his plate. Projects span from improvement efforts to marketing strategies and from a simple to-do list of items to a complicated web-like drawing of related tasks - showing how one change can impact numerous other areas of the Libraries work.
