The Tennessee Trucking Foundation (TTF) is a nonprofit organization that is actively expanding its efforts to educate teenagers on practicing safe driving habits around large trucks and commercial vehicles. Large trucks are a dominant part of the traffic stream and represent every 4th vehicle on the road. The “Teens & Trucks Share the Road” program is a nationally known curriculum created to educate young drivers on the safety precautions they should take when driving around large trucks and commercial vehicles.

Tennessee’s Road Team Captains are professional truck drivers who take the message of highway safety all across Tennessee. The goal of Tennessee’s Road Team is to create a safe driving environment and save lives on our highways by educating motorists, especially new teen drivers, on how to safely share the road with large trucks and commercial vehicles. Road Team Captains help further our mission to educate the public through programs designed to make our roads safer.

PROGRAMS – FREE OF CHARGE!

• Touch – A – Truck

We will bring out our big truck, where the students are able to experience first-hand what it is like to sit behind the wheel of a tractor trailer. We educate on the “No-Zone” areas of a truck—which are huge blind spots where the truck driver can’t see the motorist.

• Fatal Vision Goggles

These are our intoxication goggles that demonstrate how dangerous impaired driving can be. Our activity kits go hand-in-hand with the use of our goggles students wear while trying to walk a marked straight line, and show how alcohol can impact their control.

• Speaker / Presentation

We provide a broad presentation on highway safety and being around big trucks on the road, including short, informational videos.

• Pedal Karts

We set up a pedal kart track in your gym or parking lot, where students and participants can attempt to complete the course while wearing our Fatal Vision goggles to mimic the dangers of drunk driving.

• Drowsy Driving Presentation

Our PowerPoint presentation from our Road Team Captains educate on the signs and dangers of Drowsy Driving.
