General Manager's Scorecard

Greetings from Bright's Creek,

Join us this Friday for our monthly Member Social and new member welcome from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in the Water Wheel. Complimentary appetizers will be available.

The Bermuda grass fertilization is almost complete and the fairway aerification process is getting started. With the growth rate of the Bermuda grass increasing, we will increase the mowing frequency of the tees, fairways, and approaches to three times per week. This will provide a higher quality of cut and a more consistent playing surface. We will continue with this schedule throughout the summer and into early fall.

Expect to hear and see extra equipment working the next few weeks in the area to the right of eighteen green. A bridge is being built in this area to replace two culverts that were damaged during the club's closure back in 2019. This bridge will provide Aqua with easier access to a well located behind number two green and also supply the golf maintenance staff with a service road to reach the front nine faster.

We are now offering a preferred golf rate for any guest you would like to sponsor but are unable to attend in person. Simply call the golf shop and request a tee time for your guests. If you are able to attend, we will offer your guests our accompanied golf rate. If you are not able to attend, we will offer your guests a preferred Member sponsor rate of $130, which includes greens fee and cart fees.

Regards and thank you for your support of the club,

Steve Alden | General Manager

Etiquette is a common topic of conversation for new and seasoned golfers alike. Pace of Play? Where should I stand/what should I do on the green? Can I play through?

Pace of Play:

Always be aware of your surroundings for your safety and for others. Know where your playing partners are, whose turn it is to play, and be ready to play when your turn arises. Playing "ready golf" helps keep Pace of Play at an acceptable level which is 4 hours for 18 holes at Bright's Creek. Have the club or clubs needed with you before your time to play, know the yardage and your gameplan before your turn to play so that when your turn comes up, you're ready to step up and hit a confident and quality golf shot in a timely fashion.

Where do I stand/what do I do on the Green:

Much like the tee, it's appropriate not to stand on someone's target line or in their blind spot. It is appropriate to stand in a stable fashion off to the side in their field of vision. Please don't twist or drag your feet as it will damage the grass on the green. Always fix your pitch mark or the indentation your ball creates when it lands on the green. Place your extra clubs, towel, and other items on the ground en route to your cart so you’re not walking back and forth grabbing belongings after play has finished on that hole.

Can I play through:

Foursomes and threesomes have the right away on the Golf Course. Twosomes and Singles do NOT have precedence on the course. A group is NOT "entitled" to play through if they are a twosome or single behind a threesome or foursome but those groups should be playing according to pace of play. If a threesome or foursome waves the smaller group through that is then appropriate to play through. It is not appropriate to just drive around groups until you get in front of them. This is why we have the tee time reservation sheet to monitor and structure play for the betterment of all parties throughout the day. If there is a group playing behind pace, please contact the Golf Shop to monitor play.
