IT'S ABOUT TIME!
Garfield High School will FINALLY be celebrating its Centennial ALL DAY, this Saturday!

The Garfield Centennial Celebration will showcase a variety of activities that reflect the history and spirit of GHS through class reunions, pictorial displays, Formal Welcome Program at 1 p.m., entertainment by alumni, food trucks, and much more.
And though he can't join us in person, we thought we'd start the party with some inspiration from Honorary Chair Quincy Jones '50!

Full Schedule of Events
  • Current and Former Staff Reception in the Library: 10-11 a.m.

  • Formal Program in the Gym: 1 p.m. (doors open at 12:30 p.m.)

  • Special Jimi Hendrix retrospective photo display, inside Main Entrance

  • Food Trucks Open in the Performance Center Driveway: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.


  • Entertainment all around, including alumni Maia Santell House Blend Band and the Dave Holden '56 Family Band!
With the whole community invited, parking will be at a premium.

Make sure to give yourself a wide window to find parking before your reunion event, entertainment performance or the Formal Program you know you won't want to miss!

Garfield Past, Present & Future ...
This joyous event will highlight Garfield's storied past, present and future. We are so proud to welcome back second-generation graduate and Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell '76 as our Master of Ceremonies too! The Gym will open at 12:30 p.m. for seating.

Staff Reunion & More in Library
Former GHS Librarian Janet Woodward is hosting an hour-long Current and Former Staff Reception at 10 a.m. in the school library at the Celebration. To RSVP, email janet.jwoodward@gmail.com.
Sign Memory Book for Craig MacGowan & Sharon Masse
In addition, staff and alumni are invited to sign memory books in the library for two longtime GHS staff members who passed away this year, Craig MacGowan and Sharon Masse.

Both MacGowan and Masse worked in the Science Department through the 80's, 90's and 2000's. MacGowan was the head of the department, and founder of the Marine Science program; and Masse was a biology teacher and founder of the Genetics program.
