GILDAN ACTIVEWEAR ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP CHANGES
VINCE TYRA TO REPLACE GLENN CHAMANDY AS PRESIDENT AND CEO
Gildan Activewear Inc. announced December 11 that Glenn J. Chamandy has left his position as President and Chief Executive Officer and director. Vince Tyra has been appointed President and CEO, effective February 12, 2024. Craig A. Leavitt, a director of the Company since 2018, will serve as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer until Mr. Tyra assumes his new position.
“The Board is confident that Vince is the right person to lead the Company into the next stage of its evolution and growth,” said Donald C. Berg, Chairman of the Board.
“Over the span of his 40 year career, Glenn has been a forerunner in our industry, taking Gildan from a small family-owned business to a leading apparel company with over US$3 billion in revenues” said Berg. “We thank Glenn for his service and wish him well.”

KATE PLUMMER NAMED DIRECTOR OF SALES FOR
DEBCO & BEACON PROMOTIONS
Kate Plummer was named director of sales for Ontario-based Debco and Minnesota-based Beacon Promotions – both subsidiaries of Massachusetts-headquartered HPG. Plummer began her tenure with HPG December 11.
Plummer said she had long admired HPG’s growth and creativity. “The Debco and Beacon teams have set such a high bar with their award-winning customer service and I’m looking forward to being part of their continuing success.”
The promotional products industry is near and dear to Plummer, as her her parents founded Scarborough, ON-based supplier Clearmount, where she worked for more than 16 years, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing. Clearmount was acquired by St Regis Group last year.

ECORITE ANNOUNCES ENVIRONMENTAL GIVEBACK PROGRAM
Ecorite, a division of Canada Sportswear, is building on its commitment to the environment by designating a portion of sales each year to Conservation International, commencing January 1.
“We are pleased and excited to announce our decision to share in our good fortunes with Conservation International and to designate a portion of our sales proceeds each year to support their vital conservation work,” said Alex Jovetic, vice president of sales and marketing at Ecorite.
Conservation International is a nonprofit that’s been around since 1987, with a mission to conserve important ecosystems and address climate change through science, partnerships and fieldwork.

ALBERTA’S BRANDS MARKETING INC. FAST-GROWING IN 2023, ACCORDING TO P&PM
The 2023 Print & Promo Marketing Top Distributors’ list recognized Stony Plain’s Brands Marketing Inc. as the fastest-growing among distributors that submitted their sales information to P&PM, reporting 164.9% year-over-year revenue growth from 2021 to 2022.
Other big news came from the top two distributors, 4imprint and HALO, respectively, topping the $1 billion mark with HALO reporting 22% growth to hit $1,007,000,000. 4imprint stood at the top after spending last year in third place, with just over $1.1 billion in revenue, thanks to 44% year-over-year growth.
