RECOVERY MONTH CELEBRATIONS!

September is Recovery Month! It is a time to celebrate people in our community who are in recovery, whether it be 1 day, 1 month, or a decade. It is a time to celebrate the daily struggle it can be to stay on your pathway to recovery and to celebrate all of the positive changes made along that path. It is a time to celebrate the family members working their way through their own recovery. And a time to lift up the recovery support services in our community. While substance use disorder is extremely difficult, celebrating these moments brings hope that recovery is possible for everyone and anyone.

See below for a few of the local Recovery Month events as well as events happening around the state and nationally.

NEW RESOURCE FOR OPIOID SETTLEMENT FUND SPENDING

A Roadmap for Opioid Settlement Funds: Supporting Communities & Ending the Overdose Crisis

Over the next 18 years, states across the country will receive over $50 billion from settlements with opioid manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. Secured through the suffering of people who use drugs and their loved ones, these funds should be used to help individuals directly impacted by the failed "War on Drugs." Sadly, in many places, people are not seeing opioid settlement dollars put toward things that would actually improve their lives.
