Our next meeting is Monday, December 11, 2023. Our meeting is from 9:30AM to 11:00AM and this will be the last meeting of 2023. Our first meeting in 2024 is on Monday, January 8, 2024. The 2024 legislative session starts on Wednesday, January 10th. Starting on Jan 8th we will be meeting every Monday while the legislature is in session except for Federal holidays.

Successful Special Session Delivers Property Tax Relief 

A Message from Governor Polis

"Last week, following the special session, the state delivered property tax relief for Coloradans that, combined with previously passed property tax relief, will subtract $55,000 per home from state property tax valuation. This action along with other state property tax relief will reduce the residential assessment rate to 6.7% and save Coloradans living in a $500,000 home an average of $505 on their 2023 property tax bills (without dipping into the TABOR surplus). Despite these savings, because of the enormous increase in valuations many Coloradans still face major increases. I also signed a law that allows local governments to temporarily lower their mill levy and provide additional property tax relief to their constituents, and I’m hopeful that more counties and special districts will further reduce rates ..." - READ MORE

Celebration of the Passing of Prop 111

On Tuesday, December 5th from 4:30PM to 6:00PM there is a celebration of the passing of Prop 111 and an acknowledgment of the Financial Equity Coalition which helped make this legislation pass. Colorado Center for Aging (CCA) was a part of the Financial Equity Coalition that worked on passing Prop 111 in 2018. No need to RSVP - just show up!
