Dear River Forest residents,

I am pleased to announce the Harriet Hausman mural has been completed and you can view it on the train track walls near Village Hall. Harriet has been a staunch supporter of social justice movements throughout her life, serving as an Executive Board Director for the American Civil Liberties Union, as well as a River Forest Township Trustee for 12 years. To see a full list of her accomplishments, click here. I’d also like to thank River Forest Firefighter/Paramedic Zipperich and his wife Julie, for their donations of time and work on this commemorative project.

Keep Our Parks Clean

When you visit a park, you might not think about the combined factors that make the environment pleasant and safe. A park that is clean and well-maintained offers a safe and enjoyable place for people to visit for hiking, picnicking, sporting activities, or just relaxing on an outdoor bench. Keeping our parks clean can be every visitor's job, which helps contribute to a more welcoming park atmosphere. Recycling can be an important part of maintaining and using a park because it ensures that recyclable materials don't hit the landfill.

Please also use supplied waste bins for all your wrappers or take recyclable plastic items home with you. And remember to bring and use your reusable water bottle!
