Rah, rah, rah! Sis-boom-bah!

Finally! It’s football season again!

The New Orleans Saints still have another week to go before they kick off their 2022 campaign against the rival Falcons, but our college football heroes – at LSU, at Tulane, at SLU, at ULL and all around the state – kick off the new season this Labor Day weekend, cloaked in big dreams, hope and promise.

We like big dreams, hope and promise around here at St. Tammany Health System. In many ways, they – along with our stated values of teamwork, trust, compassion, quality and innovation – are the gas that makes us go as an organization.

And on this weekend, there will be plenty of all three to go around. Every team is undefeated. Every team has a shot at the championship. Every team is king of the hill.

That’ll probably change for some on Monday morning, when reality sets in. But for now, hope floats, and we’re determined to enjoy the ride as long as it lasts.

We hope you enjoy it, too.

We also hope you enjoy this collection of recent stories from St. Tammany Health System.

Go, team!

And another and another and another.

Flash-forward a couple of decades, give or take, and nine original undersea sculptures by Post – now employed by a certain animation house in Orlando, Florida (yes, that one) – have found a home at St. Tammany Health System’s Covington hospital, where since late August they’ve been greeting visitors and warming hearts as part of St. Tammany Hospital Foundation’s Healing Arts Initiative.

Making a difference

For the STHS care team, it’s a return of sorts to pre-COVID normalcy. But for patients at the health system’s flagship St. Tammany Parish Hospital, it’s nothing short of a blessing. It is “SIBR rounding,” an innovative practice recently re-implemented at the hospital.
