Message from our Founder,

Veronica Cool

Queridos amigos,

Yes, Hispanic Heritage Month has arrived, and it is ALL the great hectic awesomeness you can imagine rolled into one chaotic 30-day period. But as you all may recall, I remain a Latina the other 11 months of the year, as do my other 62 million Hermanos. Perhaps, we can extend the boundaries of Hispanic Heritage Month so that it becomes a whole.... Quarter? Perhaps, even a whole Year...

Until then, I find myself sitting a little taller, proudly contemplating the rich contributions Latinos make not just to our team here at Cool, but to the State of Maryland, the region, and our Nation.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) are incredibly important and why these commemorative periods are so significant. Embracing diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences makes us stronger, more innovative, and better equipped to meet the challenges of our ever-changing world.

Again, I need to emphasize that our commitment to serving Hispanics is not confined to a single month; it's a year-round dedication. Hispanic Heritage Month serves as a reminder of the enduring importance of fostering an environment where every individual, regardless of their background, feels valued, heard, and empowered. This is why Language Access is a necessity ALL THE TIME, not just during this month, Community Outreach matters, not just during September and October, but the rest of the year too.

WANNA GET INVOLVED? Please review the events section at the bottom of the newsletter, from our partners. who are hosting numerous events in commemoration and celebration of the countless ways Hispanic Americans have enriched our nation's history, culture, and economy.

GRACIAS for being an integral part of our journey and joining in to make 2023 a memorable celebration of our shared heritage and the diverse tapestry that makes us who we are.

Saludos,

Veronica Cool
