Samantha Muhlrad M.D. is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in hand surgery. She has practiced orthopaedics since 2010 and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Muhlrad was recently named by the New York Times Magazine as a Top Doctor-Rising Star. She has a special interest in pediatric and sports medicine and has treated professional athletes, college athletes and high school athletes. Dr. Muhlrad is a member of the Stony Brook University sports medicine team. She earned a Bachelor’s degree with distinction from Cornell University and a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Columbia University. She graduated with a Medical degree (M.D.) from Boston University in 2004. Dr. Muhlrad then completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at Stony Brook University, where she was appointed administrative chief resident and awarded Junior Resident of the Year. She then went on to do additional training in hand, upper extremity and microsurgery.
