Re: Presidential Search Update II

The Presidential Search Committee held its second meeting on Thursday, January 26. At this meeting, we heard a report from our AGB Search consultants on the listening sessions held this past week and discussed the search profile that will guide our process in detail. The Committee also approved a timeline and schedule for the search and reviewed an initial plan for the development of the candidate pool.

The days immediately ahead will be devoted to finalizing the search profile. When completed, the profile will include a description of the Seminary, a summary of the leadership opportunities that await our new President, and the most important attributes for leadership that will be used in evaluating all candidates. The profile is being shaped in important ways by the listening sessions in which many of you participated and by the input surveys that were returned. The Search Committee very much appreciates the many helpful ideas and suggestions that were received.

Our Search Committee will meet again on Wednesday, February 3, to approve the search profile. The search will officially launch on February 10. The process of building our candidate pool will continue until our full consideration deadline of April 15. The Committee anticipates the selection of semi-finalists, as well as the reference checking and interview process, will begin in late April.

The search profile will be posted on our Seminary website and AGB Search website on February 10. We encourage you to review the profile and submit nominations of individuals who you believe might serve effectively as our next President and/or the names of those who might know of potential candidates. Your suggestions may be emailed to LPTSPresident@agbsearch.com or directly to our AGB Search Consultants, Shannon McCambridge or Loren Anderson.
Throughout the search process, the committee will communicate with the campus so that you can know where we are in our search. We ask for your prayers as we begin this process leading to that person who will joyfully and intentionally join us in our WHOSOEVER commitment.

In appreciation,
Mary Gene Boteler (she, her, hers)
