SENIOR PRIVILEGE CEREMONY - CLASS OF 2024

Thursday marked a memorable day for the Class of 2024 as they celebrated their Senior Privilege Ceremony. During the event, they wore their class t-shirts and received their St. Luke’s keychains, but what truly made the occasion special was the granting of their "Senior Privileges." The students were undoubtedly excited by the newfound freedoms bestowed upon them. Mayor Stimpson also graced the ceremony with his presence and delivered a remarkable speech emphasizing the importance of responsibility that comes with privilege. We finished the morning with a reception for students and their parents. Enjoy this time, seniors!

MRS. THOMPSON TEACHES THE IMPORTANCE OF PROPER HAND HYGIENE

Maintaining proper hand hygiene in schools is crucial to promoting the health and well-being of both students and teachers. In Mrs. Thompson's K4 class, she emphasizes the importance of washing hands with soap and water for a duration of at least 20 seconds. By following this simple yet effective practice, students and teachers can reduce their risk of spreading germs, ultimately creating a safer and healthier learning environment for all.

NATIONAL CONCUSSION AWARENESS DAY

It's that time of the year when we must spread awareness about identifying and treating concussions with care. A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury that temporarily affects the brain's function. Regardless of the severity of the concussion, it's crucial to seek an immediate and thorough evaluation by a qualified medical professional to rule out any life-threatening head injuries. The symptoms of a concussion can last for up to two weeks and may include mood changes and emotional displays.

If you're interested in learning more about concussions and how to manage them, you can check out what St. Luke's athletic trainer, Mr. David Bentley had to say in the link below.
