Kitsap Great Give is April 20!
Give NK a Strong Start

Help us raise $10,000 during the Kitsap Great Give to fund teacher-driven grants for NK schools. If everyone on this mailing list gave $10, we could reach our goal and give students and teachers a strong start for the 2021-22 school year.
Remember: Your dollars go further during the Great Give because of sponsor matching funds.
Early giving starts Thurs., April 1.
Student Art Contest Winner
Congratulations to Kingston High School senior Angelina for winning the grand prize in our "I Love My School" art contest. She received a $25 gift card for her multi-media work. Five finalists, including a Gordon 1st grader, each received a $10 gift card. See all the winning works on Facebook and Instagram. Thanks to everyone who entered the contest for sharing their favorite school memories and thanks to Board Member Carol Glad for donating the prizes!
2020-21 Grant Recipients

ο»ΏIn case you missed it: The Foundation awarded six grants totaling more than $13,000 last month during a virtual ceremony. Highlights include grants to fund audio books for all NK elementary schools, alternative communication options for K-12 non-speaking students and STEAM family nights at Pearson Elementary. NKHS Equity Club Grant
An $800 grant written by NKHS student Carmella Basco is purchasing books and materials for the school's Equity Club. It's the first time the Foundation has funded a student-written grant. β€œThe NKHS Equity Club wants to promote inclusion and diversity, and not only promote, we want to show that we care and put action behind our words,”  wrote Basco. She proposed purchasing "This Book is Anti-Racist" because "it informs as well as gives action items that can be brought to our community to make a real difference.”
