Letter from LCAC Founder & Board Chair

The LCAC depends on people contributing their time, skills, and economic resources to make the Cultural Campus. Building the LCAC and Las Bodegas requires the community of Denver & our friends to contribute to our success.

I’ve committed to donate the real estate and a considerable portion of my personal assets to the creation and sustainability of the Cultural Campus we hope to create, however, my resources are limited. 

The Las Bodegas Capital Campaign has advanced considerably in 2023, but we haven’t reached the finish line. To complete the remodel next year, and sustain programming at our location by 2025, we still need to raise $2.2 million to close the construction gap & ensure funding of the first two years of operations. 

On behalf of Team LCAC, I’d like to give very warm “Gracias” to community leaders Cindy and Federico Peña for believing in our Mission and Vision and making a very generous donation to name the gardens at Las Bodegas!

Letter from LCAC Executive Director

Join us in leveraging the collective power of giving & making the largest investment in Latino arts in Colorado a reality! The LCAC leads with the strength of our Values: Cultural Courage, Imaginative Excellence, Collective Impact & Latinidad. 

We believe that to be excellent and extend a collaborative hand to those different from us takes courage and imagination, a requirement for systemic social change. It is a shared sense that we are all worthy of creativity, healing, and dignity. At the LCAC, we define Latinidad in its broadest sense; It is simultaneously Indigenous, African, Asian, European, and is evolving. 

As we bring 2023 to a close, our goal is to raise $50,000 to fund programs and operations and welcome 2024 with the Power of Comunidad! Since this September we have raised $17,946!

By Us & For Everyone: Support Arte y Cultura

The Public Art Mentoring Program supports high school & undergraduate youth by creating a pipeline into the public art commission process through workshops about the history and culture of public art, budgeting and design, along with interpersonal and technical training.

In Fall 2023, Ofrendas served over 450 people by partnering with DCIS, Valverde Elementary School, West High School. Local artists, educators and venues across the Denver Metro Area worked with us to provide FREE community art workshops steeped in culture while promoting mental wellness.

Viva Southwest Mariachi is a 2-part program, with an Educational Conference in the Spring & a Regional Festival in the Fall. In partnership with MSU Denver, we developed the Mariachi Estelares de Colorado, the first and only All-State Mariachi group that brings the best youth talent from

across the state.
