The award is calculated through a point system. The season records for conference championship sports determine the number of points earned. Sports included in the calculation include

GIRLS

In announcing the award to the Linn-Mar School Board, Athletic Director Tonya Moe said, "We are very proud of all our programs, our student-athletes, and our coaches who continue to lead, teach and mentor these teams. Linn-Mar is a very special place and we have a lot of great athletics for our kids and our coaches do their best to find a role for every single student and get them involved!"

Volunteer at Linn-Mar

Volunteering is a great way to be involved in a child's educational journey. Prior to volunteering, going through the process of becoming an approved volunteer in the district is necessary. If you're new to volunteering or if you're annually renewing your volunteer status, you'll start by filling out the Volunteer Application/Renewal Form. For new volunteers, you'll then sign-up to attend an upcoming orientation session. Once approved, you'll be added to the email distribution lists for the school(s) you're interested in getting involved with.

There are so many amazing volunteer opportunities in our district, here are some examples of ways you can participate (each require you to be an approved volunteer):

  • Attending a field trip with your child
  • Helping with the seasonal classroom parties
  • School-wide special events
  • Reading with students
  • Small group work in the classroom
  • Volunteer with our award-winning show choirs
  • Athletics and concession stand assistance
  • Classroom material preparation
  • & more!

Linn-Mar Celebrates 75 Years!

Historic Highlights:

Indian Creek

Another chapter in the story of our great district!

By 1960, the district consisted of 770 students in two buildings. The K-8 building (now the LRC) and the High School.

In 1961, Five acres of land were purchased for $11,125 to construct Indian Creek Elementary to house the district's youngest students.

The original building included the office and only the classrooms shown at the right in the photo below.

The first of many additions was in 1962 to add the multi-purpose room shown on the left side of the picture.

The current LRC was then named Main Elementary.
