Weekly Director Letter 07/15/2022
Dear Parents,
This week our students were treated to on-site field trips. Our kids in Red and Yellow Door participated in a storytelling event with the librarian from the local public library. At the end of the story, she treated our little ones with bubbles. There is no charge for this as it is a public service from our local branch library on 152 street. She will be visiting those classes once a month. Everyone else in the school participated in an animal musical Storytime presented by the Miami Children's Museum. The kids had a rocking rolling great time. Students who were in camp on Wednesday were billed $6 for this event.

We are so excited to have 12 High School Interns volunteering at our school this summer. You will see them wearing yellow Kids For Kids Academy shirts. The teachers are loving having extra pairs of hands! They are assisting in the classrooms, running kids to class and helping to bring them to the door, raking our backyard, and much more. Please be rest assured that these volunteers follow specific guidelines and are closely supervised by our staff. They are never left alone with the children and never take children to the bathroom. We are so very grateful to have them here this summer. Some will be hired for the fall!

This week our world travelers spent time in South America learning about life and the culture. They will spend one more week there next week. Our elementary kid students air in many ways. Some used their engineering skills to make airplanes while others experimented with parachutes.

This week was also very exciting as we finished our playground renovations. In addition to fixing our misting fans and covering all the play areas with shade sails, we also purchased some new playground equipment. On our toddler side, we brought in a new train. On the preschool side, we got a boat and xylophone. On the elementary side, we put in a teacup spinner and a new basketball hoop. If this direct link is not clickable in the newsletter, go to our website to the Parent Corner and scroll down to the news and announcements section to see the photos. Fingers crossed you can click this link:

Finally, in my last letter, I included links to the fee sheet and the fall activity calendar. Since the links were not clickable, I sent them out as a message. If you missed it, scroll up in the message to the July 8 message so you can click the links for both of those files.

Have a great weekend!
