PIZZA AND MOVIE NIGHT!
Saving the World for Future Generations
We are changing it up this month. For our November meeting on the fifth Wednesday this month, the Plymouth Area Democrats will provide the pizza and a great movie.
Members can contribute with drinks and dessert. No assignments — just bring whatever you'd like.
For our movie selection, we will screen 2040, a 2019 Australian documentary film directed by and starring Damon Gameau.
The movie follows Gameau's imagining of a future for his four-year-old daughter Velvet, where climate change has been solved. Described as “an exercise in fact-based dreaming” the film is structured as a letter to his daughter whereby Gameau travels around the world investigating numerous solutions that can contribute towards climate.
The film looks at the effects of climate change over the next 20 years and at technologies that exist today that can reverse the effects. Rather than leaving you depressed, you will leave informed and encouraged by the solutions that have a realistic potential to greatly contribute to reversing climate change by the year 2040.
Please note, we will have no monthly meeting in December.
Please join us at the Old Railroad Station, 8 Depot Street, Plymouth, on Wednesday, November 29, at 5:30pm.
