W Building Construction Project Update
Week of Oct. 30
Crews will begin demolition of air handlers and exhaust systems on floors 10-11. Crews also will be coring, cutting and removing portions of block wall to accommodate new electrical and mechanical systems. Occupants should expect high impact on floors 6-9.
Sound/Impact Study - On Monday, Oct. 30, a sound engineer will be performing a sound and vibration monitoring study to better understand the sound/vibration impacts building occupants may experience over the project term. This work will have a high impact to occupants on floors 6-9.

“ST2, a journey from Proteomics to Therapeutics”
Dr. Paczesny is professor and chair of microbiology and immunology, professor of pediatrics and oral health sciences, co-leader of the Cancer Immunology Program at the Hollings Cancer Center, and Sally Abney Rose Endowed Chair in Cancer Stem Cell Biology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Her laboratory is internationally recognized for its expertise and achievements in the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) field. She has pioneered the study of proteomics/biomarkers for complications post allogeneic HSCT and is now transitioning the laboratory work into clinical practice. She also has extensive expertise in the cancer immune tumor microenvironment, inflammation and alarmins, T lymphocyte biology and mechanisms of immunity and tolerance as well as translating novel drug-targetable biomarkers to treatment.

Dr. Pekosz is professor of molecular microbiology and immunology at Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University. He holds joint appointments in environmental health sciences, Bloomberg School of Public Health; environmental health and engineering, a joint program of Bloomberg School of Public Health and Whiting School of Engineering; emergency medicine, molecular and comparative pathobiology, medicine, division of infectious diseases, all at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He serves as co-director, Johns Hopkins Center for Excellence in Influenza Research and Response (JH-CEIRR), vice chair of scientific resources molecular microbiology & immunology, director of genomic analysis and sequencing core facility, and director of the Center for Emerging Viral Infectious Diseases (CEVID), all at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
