A Few Notes

There are two opportunities to gather this weekend. On Saturday evening, we hope you will come out for the Night at the Races. All the information you need is below, and the word on the street is that it's always a great time. We will also have Coffee and Donuts after all the Masses on Sunday. We hope to see you there!

There will be a second collection this weekend for Catholic Relief Services. You can find out more HERE. Thank you for your generosity to those who are most in need.

You may never notice, but we have installed a much needed new phone system at the Church and School, making it easier for us to hear and understand callers. Taking into account the saying about old dogs and new tricks, we are doing the best we can to retrieve and return your calls. If you don't hear back from one of us, please reach out again, as it is very possible that your message is accidentally lost in space. Our apologies to those who are still waiting to hear from any of us!

Contribution Statements are in the process of being mailed to those who have contributed $500 or more and you should receive them by February 15th. If you contributed less and would still like a statement, please email our Business Manager, Mr. Timothy Hood, by clicking HERE.

Finally, if you have ever dreamed of going to the Holy Land, Deacon Ricardo Reyes of our Diocese is leading a trip in Nov/Dec of 2023. Click HERE for all the details.

We are kicking off National Catholic Schools Week, so it's the perfect time to find out what St. Joseph the Worker School can offer your family. Schedule an appointment for a tour and the opportunity to speak with our Advancement Director, Mrs. Jen Heidenwolf. You can email her by clicking HERE. Explore our school website HERE.

Check out this ARTICLE explaining why your children will benefit from a Catholic Education. Our Faith teaches us that our sacrifices, when united with the sacrifice of Our Lord, are capable of strengthening our prayers and turning the ear of Almighty God toward our intentions. Catholic School can be the sacrifice which reaps academic and spiritual reward for your family.

Knights of Columbus Council 10921 will host a Night at the Races this Saturday, January 28th in the Parish Center Main Hall. Gates open at 6 PM. Races begin at 7 PM. Admission is $15, payable at the door. Includes dinner, hors d'oeuvres, snacks, refreshments and BYOB set ups. Fans may also bring their own wine, race day drinks, snacks and appetizers.

Our Veiling Ministry at St. Joseph the Worker will be placing an order for complimentary Chapel Veils. If you have been feeling called to this devotion and would like us to order a veil for you, please respond to this email and specify whether you prefer black or white. Traditionally, black is for married women and white is for single women. You can read more about veiling HERE.

Prayer for Our Parish

Dear God,

I believe that you have the ability to convert everyone at St. Joseph the Worker Church and I beg you to perform miracles in our lives that we will come to love you and never want to offend you.

I beg you to let us see our sins and run to the confessional, that the lines will be out the door.

Set the hearts of our priests on fire so that they burn with the desire for the conversion of every soul in the parish.

I implore you to make St. Joseph's a beacon in our diocese, that souls will be drawn by the holiness they find here.

I ask that you blind Satan to every parishioner, that they might have the space to know and love you without temptation.

I offer myself to you completely at whatever the cost.

Amen
