Dear Friend,
I hope you are busy thinking about the joys of the holiday season. We are entering that time of year when family, friends and community are certainly on my mind. While this is a happy season for most, I am sending this letter asking for your help because I see a desperate need in our community among families.
I recently read about some new neighbors in our community, Jeremy and Francesca. This family has already endured so much hardship in their young lives. They found themselves homeless and in a shelter. Motivated by their love for their children, Jeremy and Francesca continued looking for solutions to remain a family unit while improving their situation. Thanks to people like you, The Caring Place helped to change Jeremy and Francesca’s story. The stability The Caring Place brought to this family’s life through food, a housing deposit, transportation and rent assistance was life-changing. The couple is making a home for their children, pursuing better jobs and starting to dream again. I am so proud to be part of this organization. We are collectively bettering the lives of our neighbors, and we see it in these stories.
The Caring Place is changing lives because of you, but there is one thing I haven’t shared yet. The Caring Place is breaking records and seeing more people than ever for services. I volunteer in the Food Pantry every Tuesday and can anecdotally tell you it’s true, but the numbers agree. We are seeing more people with more needs.
Today, I have a question for you. Will you help The Caring Place serve more people? With your help, we can build community and share humanity with more people in crisis. I don’t know about you, but that’s the legacy I want to leave for the next generation. I want my grandkids to know that everyone deserves care and the ability to dream, even when times are hard.
