Welcome baby Sophie!

We are happy to announce the arrival of Sophie Gwen Wagensonner on August 22nd! Sophie is a healthy 7lb 13oz-er and is adjusting great to the big wide world. Louise and Sophie were discharged the next day and are already going for local daily strolls together.

We are thrilled both mom and baby are recovering wonderfully! Congratulations, Louise and family!

2022 Flu Vaccine Clinics

We are approaching flu vaccine season and UCSF Occupational Health has set-up their 2022 vaccine schedule. UCSF Occupational Health will be providing flu vaccines at ZSFG:

1001 Potrero Avenue

Building 5, Room TBD (will update room when more info available)

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

7:30am – 3:30pm

September 12 – September 30

Please bring your UCSF ID badge.

If you receive a flu shot outside of UCSF, please upload the flu vaccine record to the Occupational Health online portal at: https://ohsportal.ucsfmedicalcenter.org/ (VPN access required).

2022-2023 DEM Seminar Series Resuming on September 12th!

The 2022-2023 DEM Seminar Series will resume on Monday, September 12 and will be held each Monday from 12:00pm - 1:00pm in a hybrid format via Zoom and in the Building 3, Room 505 Conference Room.

You can view upcoming series speakers in the 2022-2023 Speaker List which is also available in the righthand menu of the Snapshot each week under "Division Links."

2022 DEM Safety Manual and Emergency Action Plan

A big thank you to Vanessa York for updating the Emergency Action Plan and DEM Safety Manual for 2022. Please take the time to read these documents as they contain important information regarding our policies and procedures.

In the coming weeks your lab manager will ask for your signature to verify you have read this information.

UCSF COVID-19 Policy Updates

Be vigilant about masking at work, unless you are in a room by yourself. At no time should you be eating or drinking together inside.

Visitors are required to be fully vaccinated. If they are not they will be required to have a negative COVID test before entering any building on the ZSFG campus.

Staff are encouraged to obtain COVID testing if they have any symptoms, exposure or concerns regarding COVID. Staff can obtain COVID testing at the OHS employee testing tent in the parking lot by Avon Breast Center, Monday-Sunday from 6:30am-4:30pm (no appointment required). As UCSF employees, you can also use the Color vending machine in Building 9.

Welcome Kendra Hypolite, Inaugural UCSF CARE Advocate for Racial Justice

UCSF announced that Kendra Hypolite, MSW, LSW, joined UCSF as the inaugural CARE Advocate for Racial Justice. Kendra will serve as Co-Director with Denise Caramagno, MA, LMFT, who has led the UCSF Center for Advocacy, Resources and Education (CARE) program since its inception in 2015.

In this newly appointed position, Kendra will provide confidential support, assistance and advocacy on behalf of UCSF community members who are experiencing discrimination based on their race, ethnicity and/or national origin and other protected categories. CARE Advocacy includes assistance in coordinating services on behalf of the survivor in all areas, including Student Services, Faculty Staff Assistance, UCSF Police, coordination of legal advocacy, medical advocacy and other assistance and services.
