Dear Valued Members and Friends of Dermatology-
For those that love the show Parks and Recreation, like I do...you may remember the episode where Leslie finds out she won her race to become the City of Pawnee's next Councilmember. In her campaign speech, she said in part..."Let's break out a map. Not the old, out-of-date one that shows where we've been...but a crisp, new one that shows where we might go. Lets embark on a new journey together and see where it takes us." I don't know about you, but this line still gets me EVERY. SINGLE.TIME.
I suppose it's because there is so much hope for the future. It's a reminder that with some planning and lots of heart, there is endless opportunity to not just do, but do the right thing...always.
Case and point. The long-awaited Firefighter Skin Cancer Screening happened! Three dermatologists, seven volunteers, a pup, and a community of firefighters came together to focus on health. There was gratitude for the firefighters, to our partners who supported CalDerm, and an unwavering commitment from all to continue this service throughout California. To experience the weekend, watch our recap video on CalDerm's recently launched Instagram page here!
To add to the incredible highlight of the weekend, the support for our Fall Symposium continues to come in. We are so incredibly grateful to our community of industry partners and exhibitors that will join us in Carlsbad in just a few weeks. We cannot wait for our attendees to meet the incredible community of partners that believe in not just CalDerm, but in our profession.
Thank you for being an endless inspiration to not just think...but do. The perpetual kindness doer in me is beyond fulfilled at the opportunity to support the endless impacts the profession of Dermatology generates in our communities.
In gratitude,
