Welcome to December. I just can't believe that we are just a few weeks away from Santa coming. I am just about finished all of your gifts. Then to wind down and Celebrate with my customers on December 28th. Please know that I invite all of you that are local to come to my house and eat! It is my way of saying Thank YOU!

I have worked on my calendar for 2024 and we have many exciting things planned here at the studio. We will have a Snowflake sew a long in January. It is FREE! Just sign up and get your stash ready. Then we have a cute class with Sylvester the seahorse and our Wool Friends and then we have a Sewing Retreat. All in January. All of the details are below. As we slide into February, we have another Sewing Retreat and our Wool Friends along with a road trip to Raleigh for QuiltCon. It just keeps getting better. March finds me a little rest at my Quilt Retreat in Nags Head and our Wool Friends. Make sure you mark your calendar for all the fun you can have and sign up as space is sometimes limited.

I do want to share that Katina and I had the best time in Texas at the International quilt show. We will go again in 2024. I will keep those posted who want to attend next year. Reservations for the rooms are about March or April. No payment till November.

I found this FREE Snowflake pattern and though how this would be a great January sew along. So, all you need to do is let me know you want to participate, and I will add you to the email list. Starting January 8th, you will get the first week's instructions for cutting out week 1 and sewing it together. After 4 weeks you will have a beautiful Snowflake Quilt for the Winter. What a fun way to start off the year. There is an additional border you can add if you want. I will send you the fabric requirements when I hear from you so you can go through your stash and pull your fabrics. I hope you will join this fun group. Make sure you add pictures to the Facebook group if you are a member!

This is a fun class that will be held on January 20th. The pattern has the Flex Fuse added to the pattern, so it is ready to iron on the fabric and then you cut out the shapes. You will need a half yard of backing for this fun one and a yard of a white for your seahorse. You have full access to my batik stash for the shapes on the seahorse. You may also bring your own stash if you want. Class Cost: $40.00

I already have the kits in the studio.

This is a great fun smaller project. size is 42" x 42". This is going to be a great Spring quilt to work on. I will offer a day class on April 23rd and Saturday, April 27th. You can have two days to work on this or you can start on the 27th if you are still working full time.

Once you pay for the class, I will send you the fabric requirements and then email the cutting instructions on the 22nd for the class. Join us! Cost: $25.00

We are using the conference room at the Firehouse, 1956 Urbine Road, Powhatan, VA 23139. We start at 9:30 AM and sew until 1 PM.

Our December meeting was wonderful. We held our Silent Auction and raised $522.00 for our group. We had a wonderful breakfast made by the members and we voted on a few things you will want to know about. We are moving our meetings to the first Saturday of the month to help our group grow. We hope some of you will join us now. We only have a conflict for February, so we will meet on the 2nd Saturday just in February 2024. We gained three new members! Welcome Laura McFarland, Stacie Payne and Tammy Ebner. We also planned out the next few months so look below for the schedule. We had some beautiful Show and Tell items and we collected 6 NICU quilts that will be headed to VCU and 4 lap quilts were donated to the VA Hospital. We also donated a $150 gift card to the fire department for letting us use the room. Our final vote was to move our meeting to 9:30 am. The door will open at 9 am to get set up and then we will start at 9:30 am.

Welcome to a very new and special group of ladies. Our next meeting is Tuesday, December 19th. We will be working at the Studio that day. This is our Christmas meeting, so each person is asked to bring a small food item to share. If you want to be a part of the ornament exchange, it must be wrapped and left by the tree. We will have a few stations for make it take it that day. We will be making a few different things that will be supplied for you to participate. If you want to bring your green or white wool with you, that would be fine. If you just want to work on your own project that is ok. We just have fun in this group. So put our date on your calendar and we hope to see you soon.

We are open to people joining us any month. Please join our fun and exciting group of ladies. Hope to see you very soon!

I hope you have enjoyed having these three days to sew on your projects each month. You set up your sewing machine and leave it here overnight. You get a whole 5' table to yourself. Each person brings a snack to share during the retreat. We have a few spots left for December. Cost is $15 for 3 days.

I really appreciate those of you who have purchased from my fabric stash from West Virginia. Sales have been great! I have a small amount left, but still some great selections.
