2023 Return to In-person meetings - Español abajo

We have big changes coming to the Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) meetings starting in March!

First, we will be returning to In-person meetings as the post-COVID Brown Act exemptions sunset. The State of California requires us to return to pre-COVID in-person meeting requirements. Our goal is to also provide a hybrid solution, but this is not yet ready for prime time. Therefore, for the time being, these meetings will be in person with a recording that can be watched afterwards. We have County team members working on our technological issues and hope to be able to provide both in person and zoom soon.

Second, we will now provide spanish language interpretation at all MAC meetings. Headsets and a live interpreter will be available for all full MAC meetings below, although not for committee meetings.

Third, the River MAC meetings are moving to monthly in order to accommodate more topics and more public input, while shortening the meeting time. All meetings still start at 5:30, but we aim to finish by 7 pm for each one.

Lastly, in order to accommodate all the above changes, the schedule will shift to the following rhythm: River MAC meetings will be the 2nd Thursday of every month. Coast MAC meetings will be held on the 3rd Thursday of every other month, and the River Land Use standing committee will be held at the 1st Thursday of every other month.

This comes out to the following schedule for the rest of 2023:

River MAC : March 9

Coast MAC : March 16

Coast Land Use – as needed

River Land Use: April 6

River MAC: April 13

River MAC: May 11

Coast MAC: May 18

River Land Use: June 1

River MAC: June 8

River MAC: July 13

Coast MAC: July 20

River Land Use: August 3

River MAC: August 10

River MAC: September 14

Coast MAC: September 21

River Land Use: October 5

River MAC: October 12

River MAC: November 9

Coast MAC: November 16

River Land Use: December 7

River MAC: December 14

These changes are all designed to increase our community engagement. If you have more suggestions on how to improve our MAC engagement - we are listening! Please feel free to send us your ideas at any time.
