Appliance Recycling

Efficiency Works, a regional utility collaboration serving the communities of Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland under the Platte River Power Authority, aims to help customers use energy more effectively, progress toward a noncarbon energy future and strengthen community resilience. As part of their commitment to energy efficiency,

Efficiency Works has partnered with the City of Fort Collins to promote responsible recycling of old, operational appliances.

Older refrigerators, especially those around 20 years old, use about 40% more energy than modern models. If you have an old fridge, particularly as a secondary unit, you could save $80 to $100 annually on your electricity bill by retiring it. Efficiency Works offers convenient options for recycling, including free pickup for qualified customers at your home or business.
