Sunday School

Though Sunday School resumed with new classes on January 7, 2024, it is not too late to join a class. New Sunday School booklets are available at the tables coming into the sanctuary. New class information can also be found online by clicking here. If you were not able to join a class this morning, we hope you will join next week. All classes begin at 9:00 am.

We hope you will find a class that will benefit your relationship with Christ and connect you with others. Our pastors are looking forward to hosting a time of fellowship and prayer each Sunday morning as we begin class. Regular discipleship and fellowship is a vital part of learning to stand on truth and walk in grace together. If you have any questions about Sunday School, please email info@christcovenant.org.

Supported Worker Spotlight

Sunday, January 21

All are welcome to join us on Sunday, January 21, following the evening service in the Community Life Center rooms 1&2 (CLC), to hear from our Supported Workers, Bud and Barb Speck! Bud works with Wycliffe Bible Translators as a Communications Consultant, and Barb dedicates her time to intercessory prayer. They recently moved from Germany and are currently staying in Charlotte, NC. Come and enjoy light refreshments as we learn about what the Lord is doing through the Specks and the impacts of Wycliffe Bible Translators around the world!

Would You Like to Join a Small Group?

Sign Ups Open through January 21

Our Small Groups signup season opens today and will go through January 21! Grab an info card and feel free to come by the information desks in the main lobby to learn more!

At a large and growing church like ours, small groups provide a vital avenue for connecting in fellowship and sharing life with one another as we grow together in Christ. A small group can help a big church feel small. As always, feel free to reach out to our Small Groups Coordinator, Caleb Johnson, with any questions at either calebjohnson@christcovenant.org or 704-814-1091.

Women’s Ministry Girls’ Night Out

Monday, January 22

Join Women’s Ministry for our next Girls’ Night Out on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 6:00 pm, at Viva Chicken in Indian Trail (address is 6461 Old Monroe Rd A, Indian Trail, NC 28079). We will gather for casual fellowship and dinner. The only cost is the cost of your dinner.

We do Girls’ Night Outs quarterly throughout the year as a way for women to enjoy fellowship together. This is a great way for ladies who are new to the church to get connected. We hope to see everyone there!

Monthly Day of Prayer

Tuesday, January 23

All are invited to participate in the Monthly Day of Prayer on Tuesday, January 23. There are two ways you can participate. One is to come in-person for your prayer time to the Covenant Day School Conference Room located in the A Building (this room is located next to the church’s main office) anytime between 7:30 am – 7:00 pm. Prayer guides are provided. Another option is to pick a time slot and pray where you are, whether that’s at home or at work. The day is divided into 30-minute segments for individuals to sign up and pray for supported workers and for the needs of our congregation. You can select the time that best fits your schedule by clicking here. We also hope you will take time to submit your confidential prayer requests online either by clicking here or by email at prayer@christcovenant.org.

Men's January Golf Outing

Saturday, January 27

All men ages 16 and older who enjoy playing golf are invited to come play a round of golf at Monroe Country Club on Saturday, January 27, 2024, with tee time at 11:00 am. The cost is $55. Only 20 spots are available, please click here to sign up to secure your spot.

Elder and Deacon Nominations Are Open

Until January 28

Officer nominations are open! Would you prayerfully consider who you believe could serve our church well as an elder or deacon? Through these offices Christ rules and shepherds his church. All nominees must be male and a member of our church for at least two years by his election (June 2024). The nomination form gives additional attributes of elder and deacon to consider as you are thinking of men to nominate. Nomination forms are available at the tables going into the sanctuary and can be turned in at the Welcome Center in the main lobby. The forms are also online by clicking here. Nominations will be received until Sunday, January 28. Thank you!

New Members Women's Dessert Fellowship

Thursday, February 15

If you are a new member, or are new to Christ Covenant, please join us for a Dessert Fellowship on Thursday, February 15, from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm, in the worship center’s main lobby. We want to welcome you and connect you to other women. Please RSVP to Staci Poston at sposton@christcovenant.org by February 8.

Support Groups

Begin Monday, February 12

Christ Covenant offers three different types of support groups facilitated by caring members of our church who understand what you may be going through and want to help. Grieving a loss, walking through a divorce, or providing care for a parent or child are all difficult experiences you don’t have to go through alone. Also, if you have a family member or friend going through these difficult seasons of life, let them know that these groups are here for them as well. You do not have to be a member of Christ Covenant Church to join one of these support groups.

Grief Support

GriefShare is a video seminar series featuring some of the nation’s foremost Christian experts on recovery topics as seen from a biblical perspective. Our next GriefShare session will begin Monday, February 12, from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm in worship center room 107. You can register at www.griefshare.org. Contact Carl Scheide at fromdust2glory@gmail.com with any questions.

Divorce Recovery

We live in a culture where divorce is increasingly prevalent. Christ Covenant offers support groups for those moving through separation and divorce out of a desire to restore hope through the gospel.

Christ Covenant uses the DivorceCare program in leading 13-week groups to help men and women recover from the pain of separation and divorce. This is a support group that meets weekly and includes three key parts: a video seminar featuring top divorce recovery experts, small group discussion about the video and issues faced by the individual group members, and a personal workbook with study that reinforces each session’s topic. Our next session will begin Monday, February 12, from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm in worship center room 201. To find out more about the DivorceCare program, or to register for our next session, go to divorcecare.org. If you have any questions, please contact Gaylene Scheide at gscheide@christcovenant.org.

Caregivers

Are you caring for a parent, spouse, or child? Have you been caring for a loved one for a long time or just beginning your journey? We have a support group just for caregivers. We’d love for you to join us.

Caregivers is a book study along with presentations by local resources for the many typical needs for this season of life. Our next session will be Saturdays, from 9:00 am - 10:30 am, beginning Saturday, March 2, in worship center room 107. If you would like to either join a group or learn more about Caregivers ministry, please email Gaylene Scheide at gscheide@christcovenant.org.

Children's Sunday School Spotlight

During Sunday School this morning, all our children from two years-old to fifth grade are learning about Jacob from The Biggest Story Bible Storybook curriculum, from the lesson “Blessings in the Night” on Genesis 28 and 32 about Jacob's dream. If you sit near a family with young children, please take a moment to ask the children to share what they learned in Sunday School with you!

Free Gift from Clearly Reformed Available this Sunday

As a New Year’s gift to the Christ Covenant congregation, Clearly Reformed is giving away 500 copies of Pastor Kevin’s book, Crazy Busy. They can be picked up in the lobby this Sunday morning. Happy New Year!
