Make 2024 Your Door Opening Year

January 2024 Newsletter

Hello Feng Shui Friends!

I first heard this term "door-opener" when I was working in the transportation industry and I still think it is such an odd way to ask for an introduction. Instead of expecting someone else to lay the groundwork and introduce you to the world, I am suggesting that you be your own door-opener by finding some time to get quiet and decide which doors are going to open for you in the new year. Often times, we make vague declarations at this time of the year, along with totally unattainable New Year's resolutions. Since Feng Shui is all about how you feel in your space, find a place where you can sit quietly and focus your enormous mental power on how the upcoming year will feel inside and out, and then let it go without overthinking!

As you may remember, we drove to Texas to spend Christmas with family in Fredericksburg, and boy do I have some great content coming up about the Feng Shui in both of the Airbnb's that we stayed at along the way! You can check out those future posts on my Instagram page and YouTube channel!

I have some other big ideas that are simmering on the burners of my mental and creative stove (all four of course), including a goal to write more on my blogs, and create more videos for my channel but I will wait to share the rest as they unfold and come into focus. Enjoy this catchup week ahead of the new year and the thankful end of our last Mercury Retrograde for 2023.

The internet can be a fun space where we follow all the pages that inspire helpful quotes that help to redirect our minds and focus on our goals. Every time I see one I like, I take a screenshot and look through them each night. Sorry in advance for the F-bomb below, but this one feels too relevant to the times!

Karana + Kashyapa Mudras for Feng Shui

Purification + Preservation

I have a great little deck of cards called the Mudras of Yoga by Cain Carroll and Revital Carroll and I recently came across the one that we use most often in Feng Shui to designate and activate a cure.

The ousting mudra is also known as the Karana Mudra (pictured below on the right) according to my card deck. The one that is new to me is called the Kashyapa Mudra and it is a great one to use in conjunction with the Ousting or Katana mudra when cleansing the space or a room of unwanted energies.

According to this deck, Karana Mudra should be used with the right hand and Kashyapa Mudra should be with the left and "placed firmly against the small of your lower back." Be sure to include the Six True Words or Om Ma Ni Pad Me Hum, repeating it nine times. And if you want your own deck, you can get them here.
