"Inspiring students to love God, their Catholic faith and learning"

It is that time a year where weather can effect our school day. Below is the policy/procedure from the handbook as a refresher.

Inclement Weather

a) When weather conditions make it necessary to close school, the cancellation or snow schedule will be announced by local/social media. Those who subscribe to our texting service will be notified via text of any cancellations or early dismissals.

b) Due to extreme weather, it may be necessary to dismiss school and After Care early. Local/social media will announce the closing time. An email will be sent to all parents and notification will be sent via text to all subscribed to the school texting service. Telephoning the school jams the telephone lines and is to be avoided.

c) On early dismissal days due to inclement weather, K-8 children are dismissed to the big flat for pick-up. Students not picked up 20 minutes after dismissal will report to the school office.

d) On all early release days there is NO After School Care. If inclement weather is forecasted, parents are to stay tuned to the local/social media during the day, as After School Care may need to be dismissed early if the weather hits after 3:05 PM.

The link to sign up for text alerts is posted at the bottom of this newsletter as well as on our web page for anyone not already signed up.

Red Robin, Longfellows/All in One, Dunkin Donuts, Dix Road Cleaners, Panda Express, Sephora, and Bob Evans.

Other Fundraising news:

A form went home last Friday to order the chocolate bars you want to sell. Please return this form to school ASAP. No candy bars will be sent home without this form returned. Candy bars will be sent home with the kids on Friday, January 26th. If you are wanting to personally pick up the candy bars, please let me know ahead of time so I can keep them in the office for you.

Meet Our Staff

Hello! My name is Sara Garner and I am blessed to be the School Counselor here at St. Peter School.  This is my 22nd year as a School Counselor with 6 of those years being here. I earned my Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland University College and I earned my M.Ed in Counseling from Lincoln University.  I am a parishioner of St. Peter and have had generations of family members as parishioners here since the 1850’s.

My husband Cody and I have 3 children: Jonathan, Sady and Sabella.  Jonathan is a Helias graduate and is now an Electronic Technician in the Navy and is currently stationed in Hawaii. Sady is a Junior at Helias and enjoys practicing Aerial Silks and working at SK8 Zone and Arris’ Pizza. Sabella is a 7th grader here at St. Peter and enjoys music and sports.

We are a retired Navy family, as my husband spent 20 years traveling the world.  We have lived in Everett WA, Norfolk, VA and Fort Leonard Wood, and have been able to travel many places including our favorite: Ireland.  In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my family whether it is traveling, watching movies, landscaping, crafting or scrapbooking.

The picture below is from our most recent trip to Hawaii to visit Jonathan and his fiance, Brooklyn, who is also in the Navy.
