In 1894 a congregation was started in the red brick church at 5th and Chestnut. Many years later this small family of Christian followers would become Faith Church. In 1953 a groundbreaking ceremony was held as new construction began at 230 Williams Place in Charmony. A cornerstone laying service was held April 25th and dedication was set for July 18, 1954. An additional wing, Kelly Hall, was dedicated on October 6, 1963.
Jump ahead 60 years and they are Faith Cornerstone. Faith is more than just a place of worship, it is a community of believers dedicated to faith, service, and love. Established with the vision of creating a welcoming environment for individuals and families from all walks of life. Faith Cornerstone is a non-denominational church committed to sharing the hope and grace found in Jesus Christ.
Each Sunday, members and visitors gather to experience heartfelt worship, biblical teaching, and fellowship, creating an atmosphere where faith is nurtured, and lives are transformed. Faith Cornerstone believes that faith should not be confined to the walls of a church building but lived out in daily life. The church emphasizes the importance of grace and the power of redemption, creating an environment where individuals can explore and grow in their faith.
Faith Cornerstone is honored to be recognized as the Chamber of Commerce Business of the Week. This acknowledgment is a testament to the church’s unwavering dedication to making a positive impact both spiritually and socially. Whether someone is searching for a church home, looking for ways to serve, or simply in need of encouragement, Faith Cornerstone stands ready to welcome them. Faith Church is a place where God is the focus. The congregation has never taken their eyes off of God’s calling. Jesus is the foundation; he is their cornerstone in which they build and rebuild. At the end of June 2023 Faith disaffiliated from the Methodist denomination and is looking forward to a future that is bright and lead by Jesus Christ.
