the campaign.

May 2022 – Our official Capital Campaign was launched as part of our annual Homecoming and included groundbreaking for the new staff housing buildings.

Big Campaign Projects!

Steph Anderson discusses dam repairs with the engineers and the contractor

Our lake provides for water sports and for pond and stream ecological studies

Dam Repair and Renovation

With engineering studies now completed, we are moving forward to restore the dam for the lake that is used by so many for swimming, paddling around and environmental studies.

• Estimated construction cost $600,000.

• Currently we have approximately $200,000 cash on hand toward this project and have applied for a grant that may help alleviate costs.

• The majority of funds need to be made available before the dam construction can begin.

Projects At the Top of The Mountain

Throughout 2024, we will be starting on a wide variety of exciting projects at the top of the Mountain!

• Much needed upgrades, updates and renovations to guest cabins and meeting spaces.

• Kitchen upgrades to better serve our guests and keep our staff happy.

• Electrical upgrades throughout the property. We’re all about keeping the lights on!

• Construction of our multi-purpose building to provide meeting space for all our programs as well as housing for our ASCENDER youth leadership program.

Updates on

Our Current Campaign Projects

If you’ve read any of our newsletters, emails, social media posts, or had a conversation with anyone at The Mountain, then you’ve certainly heard about the amazing progress we’ve made on two important projects -- our new Staff Housing and Crafts Barn renovations. And now you’re going to hear more!

Crafts Barn Housing

The renovations of the housing section of the Craft Barn are nearly completed.

This bright and airy new living space will include five bedrooms, a kitchen, two full baths, and laundry room. Our staff is going to feel right at home!

Staff Housing

We continue to make great progress on our two new Staff Housing buildings! Both the exterior siding installation and interior drywall are well underway. The next time you're up at The Mountain, ask for a tour and check out the progress for yourself!

A Mountain Member Message

Karen Kleiber

While visiting The Mountain during the Grateful Gathering weekend, my family toured the new staff housing that is under construction.

For me, it immediately brought back memories of living in the “studio” trailer at the bottom of The Mountain when I was recently out of college and on year-round staff. While my trailer was cozy, I also remember waking up in the middle of night, more than once, because my cat had caught a mouse in the trailer. I would scoop up the mouse, toss it into the forest, and then go back to sleep.

Of course, that was over 20 years ago, and many of the same trailers continue to house staff. Better staff housing is an essential improvement for The Mountain's future. Seeing the modern comfortable housing under construction and talking with Steph during the tour, I connected to how much new housing will support The Mountain's success by helping to attract and retain necessary staff. This is the reason that my husband, Andrew, and I decided to support the capital campaign and we hope you will join us.
