Still Listening:
Parish Conversations about the Potential Capital Campaign Survey Results

BEGINNING THIS Sunday, July 17 and continuing July 24 & 31
In Church After Each Service

On the last three Sundays in July, you'll have an opportunity to ask questions about our Potential Capital Campaign and what all the surveys mean and don't mean. These conversations will hopefully provide clarity about the topic of a Potential Capital Campaign.

Yes, we are Still Listening.

The wardens will be there, along with our clergy and others on the committee exploring the topic. We hope the 10 or so minutes we plan for these conversations each Sunday will bring clarity and help direct our vision for Good Sam.

TONIGHT
Vacation Bible School
Friends & Family Program

TONIGHT @ 7 pm

Tonight, there'll be a wonderful program featuring our VBS children! Everyone is invited and we hope you can attend.

It's been a wonderful week of fun: learning, worshiping, singing, and playing. New friendships were made and old ones renewed. As it is every year, VBS is such a joy for everyone involved! A BIG thanks goes to Peace Lutheran Church for partnering with us once again this year.

One more day tomorrow, Friday, July 15; the day ends at 11:00 am instead of noon.

If you would like to check out some of the photos from VBS, check out our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/GoodSamKnoxvilleTN
Good Sam Book Group

Thursday, July 14
6:00 PM @ Natalie McNutt's Home

Our selection for July is The Lincoln Highway .

We will not be meeting at Good Sam tonight, but will enjoy one another's company at Natalie McNutt's home. Thank you Natalie for sharing your home with everyone this evening!

If you are a regular member of Book Group, you received an email earlier in the week with Natalie's address. Please check your inbox for that email. If you have questions, contact Sabra Parish at ksparish@comcast.net.

POSTPONED:
Fun Friday Fiesta!

Because of a conflict with the VMC's 10th Annual Don Sproles Memorial Evening “WINE AND SHINE" event, we have decided to cancel FUN FRIDAY FIESTA on July 26. Don was a long-time, active parishioner who was huge part of the Good Sam story over the years...how could we compete with that??

Our first party will be the fourth Friday in August – August 26. Look for more information soon. In the meantime, check out Wine & Shine - that is always a GREAT time, for a great cause! Read more about it HERE.

Youth News

Families with YOUTH in grades 4 -12 this coming fall, if you are NOT already receiving youth emails from Sinead Doherty (our Youth Minister), please email Sinead at sinead@goodsamknox.org to get on the list to receive ALL information about youth news and events. Tyson House
Work Day

August 6 - 9 AM

You are invited to Tyson House's Annual work day on August 6 starting at 9 AM!
We need your help to prepare for students to return to campus in the Fall. We will be providing lunch for all volunteers and tasks for the day include gardening, litter pick-up, and cleaning inside and outside of the building! Volunteers are encouraged to bring work gloves and gardening tools. If you have questions, reach out to Caitlynne at tysonhouseadm@gmail.com or call us at 865-637-2031.

Sign-up To Give The Altar Flowers

During church services, how often have you said to yourself “Wow, the altar flowers are beautiful!”

We have some talented folks on our Flower Guild, but they depend on your dedications and donations to purchase the flowers they arrange each week. Please go to our online signup and pick a Sunday to give the altar flowers in thanksgiving for or in memory of someone special or to commemorate a special event.

Detailed instructions are included on the online portal form.

**PLEASE NOTE: ON THIS FORM, WHERE IT ASKS YOU “HOW MANY PEOPLE ATTENDING”, THIS MEANS HOW MANY ALTAR FLOWER VASES YOU ARE GIVING. CHOOSE ONE ($35) OR TWO ($70).

You may pay through the online giving portal (choosing the Flower Fund Donation option in the giving portal. There is a required memo line for you to put the date for which you are giving the flowers. Cost: $35 for one vase; $70 for two vases.) Alternately, you can mail a check to the church (made out to Good Samaritan) or put a check in the plate on Sunday. Please put “Altar Flowers” and the date in the memo line. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: In the fall, when Good Sam begins a new program year, Altar Flower Sign-ups will likely return to signing up at church, in the Altar Flower Notebook on one of the tables in Henslee Hall.

Cash in the Plate

For the past 34 years, medical, dental, vision, and veterinary care has been provided to hundreds of thousands of people through the operation of pop-up clinics. RAM operates its clinics in communities large and small, both in the United States and abroad. Through partnerships with global organizations, and thanks to international volunteers, they are able to respond to natural and man-made disasters by land, sea, and air, delivering medical relief and other humanitarian aid to people in need. Your donations will help them continue providing these crucial services. provide these crucial services.

You can make an online cash plate gift to the cash in the plate on the Good Sam online giving page. There is an option on the giving page to give to the "Cash in Plate". As always, you may also send a check to Good Samaritan. (Please designate that it is for "RAM" in the memo line).
