CONNECT

Thanks to all of the students who brought their backpacks to be blessed last Sunday.

We hope you've had a great start to the school year.

Always remember that YOU ARE LOVED by the Gethsemane community!

Christmas in July THANK YOU

Many thanks for your generous donations of school supplies during the Dr. Carl Candoli Christmas in July School Supply Drive. The school supplies were delivered to T.A. Brown Elementary on Thursday, August 10. Monetary contributions totaled over $1,100. Breakfast tacos were delivered to the staff Friday, August 11. The support of the Gethsemane Lutheran community is appreciated by the T.A. Brown staff and students and is also a beautiful memorial honoring the late beloved Gethsemane member Dr. Carl Candoli. Thanks to Pam Bornemann Atkins, Joan Candoli, and the 2023 “Christmas in July” Team for their commitment to public education.

"God's Work Our Hands" and Rally Sunday

Sunday, September 10

Don’t miss this exciting day at Gethsemane! Wear or plan to purchase a “God’s Work Our Hands” shirt to wear for this day of service together.

Gather for Rally Sunday in the multipurpose room at 9:30 am to celebrate the beginning of a new year of growing in faith together. After the opening, children, and youth will meet with their teachers. Parents are asked to register their children.

Following the 10:30 am worship, enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch prepared by Gethsemane members Greg & Debbie Pitts (aka Rusted Shut BBQ) in the multipurpose room.

After lunch, participate in the annual “God’s Work Our Hands” multi-generational opportunity for service work restoring/reconciling communities. Check the Narthex and future G-News emails for volunteer sign-ups and shirt sales.

Wednesday Midweek Connections

Wednesday Midweek Connections is such a special time at Gethsemane. Come for worship at Noon followed by fellowship in the Parlor.

ELCA National Youth Gathering

July 16-20, 2024

New Orleans, LA

Gethsemane youth are eager to participate in a youth ministry tradition joining thousands of youth from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in New Orleans for the 2024 ELCA youth gathering: “Created To Be.” Gethsemane senior high youth have attended every ELCA youth gathering.
