Summer Classes
Registration is now open for RVCC’s summer classes, with sessions beginning May 22, June 12, and July 10. Summer is a great opportunity for college students to earn extra credits and save money and for high school juniors and seniors to jumpstart their college education.

Instant Decision & Registration Days
Take the steps to enroll for the Fall Semester all in one day—attend an Instant Decision & Registration Day, June 6, July 11, and August 1, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., in the Event Center. Fall Semester classes begin August 30.
During the program, you will have the opportunity to:
- Speak with an enrollment coach and learn about the steps to enroll
- Explore financial aid options, including loans, grants, scholarships, and the Free Tuition Program
- Submit admissions documentation
- Meet with an Academic Advisor

Giving Day Fundraising Record
RVCC had a record-setting “Giving Day” and raised $163,830 for student clubs and athletic teams, as well as a range of centers, institutes and critical institutional programs.

Fulbright Scholar
Jenna Douglas, a member of RVCC’s Class of 2017, was recently selected as a Fulbright Scholar. Douglas, a former resident of Bridgewater, will spend the 2023-2024 academic year serving as an English Teaching Assistant in La Rioja, Spain.

Hospital Mural Project
Professor Ji Yong Kim, an Instructor in the Arts & Design department, has been selected as one of 10 artists to paint a mural as part of the NYC Health + Hospitals Community Mural Project. Professor Kim was selected from among 130 applicants for the program. The artist, whose work combines Buddhist iconography with pop culture imagery, influenced by his upbringing in Myanmar and South Korea, will be creating a mural for the NYC Health + Hospitals/Carter facility in East Harlem.

Professor’s Work at Actors Studio
A scene from Professor of Theatre Dennis Russo’s play, Midnight and Sky, will be presented as part of The Actors Studio’s In Process event, May 12-13, at 7 p.m., in New York City. The Actors Studio is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this year with a variety of programming open to the public. One of these events is In Process, which is an open rehearsal of work in the advanced development phase. Russo, who is also an actor, will be performing in Midnight and Sky as well.

National Civic Fellow
RVCC student Sydney Lehrer of Flemington has been selected as a Newman Civic Fellow by Campus Compact for the 2023-2024 academic year. Lehrer joins more than 157 students from across the US and Mexico selected for this honor, which recognizes their commitment to finding solutions facing communities locally, nationally, and internationally.

ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll
RVCC student Steven Reffler of Green Brook Township is one of 175 college students being recognized nationally for their nonpartisan democratic engagement work. Reffler is being honored by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) as part of the 2023 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll.

Nonprofit Civic Engagement Award
Sandra Faragalla of Neshanic Station, a first-generation college student, has been named the recipient of the Raritan Valley Community College Nonprofit Civic Engagement Award for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Nota Bene Awards
RVCC recognized the creativity and ingenuity of its students at the annual Note Bene awards ceremony. Thirty students were selected to exhibit their works, which included essays, poems, short stories, paintings, songs, and other expressions of creativity.

Dress for Success
RVCC’s Student Occupational Therapy Assistant Association (SOTAA) recently held a Dress for Success clothing drive, with great success. The SOTAA members collected three racks of donated business clothes to the RVCC Resource Center, including new men's dress shirts, more than 70 suits, women's business attire, and shoes and accessories. The donated clothing will assist RVCC students with professional attire for internships, job interviews, and employment.

Planetarium
The RVCC Planetarium has a terrific lineup in May, including a laser concert featuring music by Taylor Swift, a guided meditation session, and a star show focusing on where Earth is situated in the Universe.
