Karly Murphy received the Irene Perstein Award from the UCSF School of Medicine and the Mount Zion Health Fund.

Matt Springer received a Spark Award from the UC Berkeley Bakar Faculty Fellows program.

Peter Chin-Hong was quoted by the NY Times about the safety of getting the Covid and flu shots at the same time. He also spoke about Covid strategies with CNN and NBC News.

Monica Gandhi was quoted in the Washington Post and Mercury News regarding the timing of Covid, flu, and RSV vaccines. Slate also reviewed her new book, Endemic: A Post-Pandemic Playbook.

Sheiphali Gandhi spoke to KCBS Radio about her research into popular countertop stone slabs that are resulting in increased cases of silicosis, predominantly in young Latino men.

Jennifer Lai and team: a grant of $7M over 5 years from the National Institute on Aging for a project entitled, “The spectrum of cognitive impairment including Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias after liver transplantation.”

Elaine Ku, Chi-yuan Hsu, and team: a U2C grant of $4.2M over 5 years and a linked TL1 grant of $6.3M over 5 years from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases for projects entitled, “Learners to LeAders in benign urology, benign nephrology, and non-cancer hematology – NRSA,” and “NRSA training core.”
