WA STATE PTA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY
CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS
Hello parents! In addition to providing fundraising and other direct support to BHS, the PTSA also participates in the Washington State PTA’s Legislative Assembly, which will take place October 15-16 at Bellevue College, with remote attendance options.

The Washington State PTA legislative platform is a two-year platform to mirror the Washington state legislative cycle. On the even-numbered years (like this one!), the new platform is voted on by members at the legislative assembly in the fall. The top five issues become our short-term platform and consist of our priority issues when advocating throughout the year.

How can you get involved?
  1. Volunteer to be the PTSA’s Legislative Representative, helping gather feedback from BHS families, attend the legislative session in October, and report back at the November General Meeting.
  2. Become a voting delegate. Our PTSA sends 8 voting delegates to the assembly, including our PTSA Presidents, Legislative Rep, and 5 additional volunteer delegates.
  3. All parents and students are welcome to register and participate in the Legislative Assembly without voting rights. It is a great place to learn and share your thoughts and experiences! Parent registration is $165 and students are $75. Please reach out for information on subsidized rates if interested.

If you are interested in volunteering as a Legislative Rep or becoming a voting delegate please email Rebekah and Jaclyn at presidents@bellevuehighptsa.com. Voting Delegates must be assigned by OCTOBER 6th!

If you would like to attend on your own you can register here, https://www.wastatepta.org/events-programs/legislative-assembly/

Bellevue Theater is an extraordinary program with an extremely talented set of actors and crew. Mr Kline has truly built one of the strongest programs in the United States. We need your help supporting these great young adults -- especially as we prepare for the Fringe Festival this year. We have openings for officers and more importantly need your volunteer time. Please email marc.whitten@outlook.com with your interest.
